I know the rules on how to handle creature hardness has changed since it was first implemented; specifically what kind of attacks bypass it. I know adamantine can bypass it, but does energy damage bypass it as well? Can anyone clarify because I can't find the errata/clarification online.

Adamantine ignores hardness lower than 20. Which is basically everything except other adamantine objects and walls of force. Energy attacks deal half damage to objects, and then you subtract hardness from the damage. Subject to GM discretion, certain energy should bypass hardness of objects. I think the example in sonic damage bypassing the hardness of glass or crystalline objects, or fire bypassing the hardness of wooden objects. If you take a look on the SRD, read the page on damaging objects.

Thanks mate! I could have sworn that the special defense hardness robots get don't half energy damage anymore because... Well I really don't know, I remember a lot of people being ticked about it though

There was definitely a different ruling about it due to the robots in season 6, but don't have handy access to checks at the moment. Worth a quick search on the PFS boards.

Hardness reduces energy damage. If the target of the energy damage is an object (this includes Animated Objects) it will take half damage from energy attacks.

Check the stat block to see if the enemy has the Object type then also check for hardness.

Creatures don't halve energy damage, even if they have hardness.
