ReDBox 1.6 Release Candidate 1 Release

Hi All,

Please be advised that ReDBox 1.6 Release Candidate (RC) 1 has been made available. For details regarding the release, please refer to http://www.redboxresearchdata.com.au/releases/completed/1-6

It's important to note that we have provided a form on that page that allows you to lodge any issues you may find in RC1. This allows us to efficiently track issues as they arise so we ask that you use form and not mail issues to the mailing list or an individual developer.

We have deployed the 1.6 RC1 release to http://demo.redboxresearchdata.com.au/ for easy review*.

For technical staff:

• We have not undertaken a full RC1 release of all of the sample builds, only build-dev-local for Mint and ReDBox
• You should be able to roll in the 1.6RC1 version via your institutional build for Mint and ReDBox
• Please note that there have been configuration changes that may require you to update your system-config.json. At this point we suggest reviewing the build-dev-local sample builds or the demo server.

The artifacts have also been deployed to Maven Central and we are just waiting on them go through the processing to be published.

We're tracking issues via the form in our release page (mentioned in the RC1 notification) - for a list of issues and our responses, please refer to https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AmekIO0v2A7CdHgxbU5iU1J2XzMzMHhNN0xRMUhfTUE&output=html.

It's a good time for me to ask that you don't email the dev team individually at this point. Please log all issues via the web form. You can also use the mailing lists to discuss your thoughts. 

It's good to be mindful that sending emails to specific people can cause information loss - especially if that person is away from work and relaxing in other parts of the world :)
