University of South Australia - enhancements to ReDBox / Mint

Hi Everyone:

The University of South Australia has recently implemented our Research Metadata Store Project. 

In terms of collaboration, the University of South Australia has contributed a number of features to enhance the open source ReDBox / Mint solution which may be of interest to you.

The features added by the University of South Australia in ReDBox are as follows:

1.       Custom fields: 

·              Abbreviated title

·              Alternative title

·              Electronic address

·              Physical address

2.       Provision to add multiple instances for the following elements:

·         Description

·         Electronic Location

·         Physical Location

·         Date Coverage

·         Time Period

·         Access/Rights and Licensing

3.       Provision to add external collaborators (e.g. from other universities) and their associated NLA identifiers to allow resolution of this collaboration on the RDA site.

4.       Provision to add related activities to a collection using the existing lookup functionality.

5.       Provision to enter any of the following values:  full citation, citation metadata or no citation.

6.       Addition of a confirmation message when deleting a record.

7.       Help text added and displayed for each tab.

The features added by UniSA in Mint are as follows:

1.       Additional security added for all records (private vs. public) which restricts the appearance of the record in the OAI feed. 

2.       Display the Researcher’s full name (concatenated first name and last name) in the Activity record provided that the researcher already has a party record in place.
