Hi all,

I'm hoping I can get someone to walk me through using ReDBox and ANDS DOI minting.

I have done the ANDS paperwork and been given my appID for generating DOIs.
I have edited the system-config.json for ReDBox and added in this appID in the appropriate place and left all other fields alone

......
"andsDoi": {
        "apiKey": "xxxxxx",
        "apiBaseUrl": "https://services.ands.org.au/doi/1.1/",
        "doiProperty": "andsDoi",
        "security": {
            "users": [],
            "roles": [
                "admin"
            ]
        }
    },
.....

I have then gone into a collection record in redbox that is sitting in "Final Review" and gone to the Data Management tab and set the Type of identifier to "Digital Object Identifier".  Now this is the point at which I get confused. If I don't check the box "Use this record's ID" - which is what I thought I should do as I will be using the DOI as the identifier - the form won't let me move on as it wants something put in the Identifier box. If I do check the box "Use this record's ID", it sets the persistant ID to be the local url and I can't see where the DOI bit come in.

Am I completely missing what is meant to be happening?

Is there any documentation about how this all is meant to work?

Thanks!

Hi Marianne,

I haven't done this myself (so I'd be interested to see how you go). However, have you tried setting "use-ands-doi" to "true" in home/harvest/workflows/dataset.json? Thanks.

Cheers, Grant

G'day Marianne,

We use the DOI service at Deakin and our system-config.json is similar to yours.

The minting process is carried out by the resources doing the quality checks on the record.
Under the citation tab (when editing the dataset record) there are two options, we select the second which gives a popup to mint the DOI via the ANDS DataCite service.

Once the mint has occurred and the record is saved, the DOI will then be used.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Christopher
