What is your favorite juicer recipe?
Is it a neander-juicer or a normal-juicer? Either way, congratulations!
I've heard that a shot of elm juice is good for headaches and ordinary
aches and pains (as from running a neander-juicer). :)

Whatever's handy plus rum :-)
seriously though, those are fun *and* healthy. Don't stop with fruit
though, throw some veggies in there!
Electric. Norm would have approved! :^]
Beets, carrots, cucumber, apple, and blueberry in some happy
proportion. Add vodka as required. Stir. Serve over ice.

What kind: Champion?* I used to lust after getting one of those back
when I was an organic vegetarian macrobiotic hippie.
* Those are the good kind of juice "extractors" that expel the pulp
along with the juice so you can keep on juicing without stopping to
clean out the pulp. I had a little Oster juicer that was OK, but the
pulp stayed inside the basket and had to be cleaned out frequently.

So, you're with MLB?
It's a Breville. It separates the pulp and shoots it out the back.
Centrifugal I think.
I think I'm going start needing to take an imodium before drinking so
much juice next time.
Sorry if TMI. :^]
Major League Baseball?
Ahh. I get it. Different kind of juice. ;^)
I definitely have some experimenting to do here. I've also heard that
a smidge of ginger is good also.
JEEZUZ Tim. Stir? STIR?
SHAKE, fer chrissakes.

Yep, basket of tomatoes, one bell pepper and a bit of
ginger, careful with the ginger though.

Hmmm; not bad for a right-winger. Have to try that sometime.
Yes, absholutely. How the hell anyone can even think about making a
martini without shaking is beyond me. What is that "stirred", some kind
of effete British thing?
Oh, we weren't talking about martinis?
I see it's past 5:00 ...
You never wanted to call on this side until late in the day, but it
sure was a good way to get your veggies<G>.

Andy's Bloody Mary:

1, Large can, Campbell's V8 juice
1 ,8 Oz Cup, Lea & Perrins Worchestshire Sauce

Lime slice optional.
Cuts to the chase, no mess to clean up.

Pretty basic. Mostly orange juice. maybe some berries. Add a little ginger
ale.
Use it as a chaser for straight shots of cognac.
I know, I know, totally blasphemy.
But it sure is good.
Ahhh, a brandy aficionado...
I have been fortunate to have shared a few really fine brandies over
the years. Armagnacs, and Calvados. Fruit juice after brandy? Why
sure, no prob. Many are overpriced and overrated, IMHO.

Sure, why not.

Mmmm.. That sounds good. I already had my apple/orange combo w/
breakfast. :^)
Martinis are made with gin, not vodka.
It's missing one thing: 1 tbsp pickle juice.
One shakes *martinis*. But martinis are made with gin not vodka. Calling
anything with vodka a martini is the act of a philistine...
You are deeply confuse - I'm not even close to being a right winger...
I just can't stand the left.

Having visions of one apple, one orange, one muffin, three slices of

What? And spoil that damn fine bass? LOL! That was one of THE best
SNL takeoffs ever. Thanks for the reminder.
Even more memorable than Blue Cheese flavoured soda.

I'm with you on the shaken-not-stirred thing, but dontcha think that old
"gin only" ship has long since sailed? Methinks you're fighting a losing
battle here. I have one friend/client who's a martiniphile and prefers
vodka.
Myself, I like gin better, but alternate between the two.
(However, I do draw the line at "appletinis" and other abominations ...)
What was the one that was "A dessert topping! AND a floor wax!"?
Gag me with a spoon. Martinis are gin based. The ones with vodak [sic]
in them are cocktails. And appletinis? Oy! Those are rude!
Robbie's martini secret recipe:
Tall, martini shaped glass. Frozen.
3 oz of dry gin. Sapphire or Boodles. Then.. in an adjacent room, one
opens a bottle of dry vermouth. If there isn't too much of a draught,
then it is safe to fill the Martini Dry Vermouth's bottle cap. A
careful puff of breath aimed in the direction of the room where the
gin patiently awaits a waft of vermouth vapours. Presto. No lemon
rind nonsense, because, to quote Jackie Gleason: "If I want lemonade,
I will ask for lemonade."
NO ice, we are here to drink, not to skate.
An olive? Maybe 3 on a skewer, weeeee little ones.

Six of those and you're a stock-broker.

Guy walks into a bar, sits at the bar and attempts to order a "Perfect
Martini",
suggesting that he will tell the bartender how to make a "Perfect
Martini".
The bartender objects stating he has been a bartender for over 30
years and is
certainly capable of making a "Perfect Martini" and proceeds to make
and serve
a classic martini.
Guy takes a sip, spits it out and screams "RUBBISH".
Now I'm going to tell you how to make a "Perfect Martini".
Start by putting on a pair of insulated gloves, a totally frosted from
the freezer,
3 ounces of 38F Bombay Gin gently poured into the frosted glass.
At a distance of 10 ft, quietly whisper "vermouth", then serve.
The bartender complied and served the guy's martini as instructed.

Lew
> Guy took a sip and exclaimed "LOUD MOUTH".
Yeah, yeah; I think we've all heard those "just give a sideways glance
at a bottle of vermouth" prescriptions. (By the bye, didn't Herb Caen
tell this same story?)
Myself, I'll use gin or vodka as I please (but prefer gin), and mix the
drink in the proportions of a little vermouth:a lot of gin/vodka.
A frosted glass is always a Good Thing. And it should be a classic
martini glass, not a tumbler or a Coke glass or a wine glass.
My personal recipe (not original to me, but given by some friends, Joe &
Kirsten):
Obtain a cocktail shaker.
Mix gin (or vodka) and vermouth in your preferred ratio.
Put in 2-3 good-sized ice cubes.
Shake the hell out of the shaker.
The drink is considered done when your hand starts sticking to the shaker.
The resulting ice crystals in the martini make an exquisite drink.
The BEST 'martini' (yup, that's what they called it) was a crew of
demolition guys, hired to tear down 6 store-fronts on Queen West in
TO, and it was HOT HOT HOT that day. They had a formula... and it fit
exactly; a job-site cooler, which took the following:
2 x 40 oz of Boodles gin.
3 x 1.5 liter bottles of Schweppes tonic.
ONE whole bag of ice.
and one pint of lemon juice.
.
.
.
it was 106F that day. There were 8 of us...we refilled that sucker
twice. We were intoxocuted.

Went to a co-op school in Cleveland right down the street from the
Cleveland Clinic.
My room mate had a co-op job working in the Clinic pharmacy where a
supply of grain ethyl, all 190+ proof of it, was maintained.
Once and awhile, a bottle of "grain" would show up on our desk.
Time to hike 3-4 blocks to the local grocery for some cans of Hawaiian
Punch.
Mix the magic elixirs together and place on outside window sill for 30
minutes.
(When you are 13 floors up looking at Lake Erie in January, it's cold
outside.)
Ah the memories.

Back in the days when I would partake a martin-eye or two, would keep
a bottle of "Shine" in the zero degree freezer.
At 190+, that stuff would get your attention, as QUICK.
Made no difference your normal preference, gin or vodka, a sip of that
stuff, and all you wanted was water.

Seven and you're a banker.
Ten and you're a legislator,
15 and you're President, Premier, Emir, or Potentate.
Well... I have no objection to vodka in its place, it's just not a
martini. Gin must be (or should be, anyway) consumed with discretion,
taste, and restraint, or the old adage will kick in, "Gin makes you
sin". I have a lovely relationship - restrained and disciplined - with
Hendrix, a particularly fine example of Ginophage.

These are children's drinks wherein the intent is to get mentally
rearranged and never taste the instrument of one's destruction. For
such people, I recommend straight Sterno.
P.S. I have few rules about living, but one of them is ironclad:
No alcohol before power tools, firearms, or women - mixing
any of the aforementioned will cause one to lose life, liberty,
and the pursuit of happiness...
When I was stationed at Montgomery, Alabama, we'd buy mason jars of shine at
a roller rink in Columbus, Georgia.

Ya, the kind they never heard of, until the indictments started coming down.
I would, but feel free to add bass (anchovies, kippers, squid, etc) to
suit individual taste. :-/
But then you have the moonshine martini, you just stick a few pine
needle in your mason jar of hooch for a minute, remove needles.

Mine is, too. $20 plastic Singer, no less! But it works, and
separates the pulp, which I can use in breads.

TMI, and now you realize just how much fiber there is in juice. But
nix the Immodium. It's bad for you. Just drink less juice more often
for health.
Where would your Omega 3 come from??????
I recall "Monkey Puss" winning the contest for the new "jelly flavor"
Screw the lid off a pint of 100 proof Tangueray gin,
pitch lid out car window, after much discussion with
your drinking partner, mark the halfway point with your thumb,
drink down to the marked point and pass to partner,
they discard empty bottle out the other window.
Perfect martini.

They make 100 proof Tanq gin!!?? On what planet and how much are tickets?
nb
No matter what bait I use, kippers just never seem to want to bite.
Nahh, that's just gin. For it to be a martini you need a picture of a
vermouth bottle in the car.
I believe the standard prescription is pouring the gin while looking at
a portrait of Lorenzo Schwartz, the inventor of vermouth. So just tape a
picture to the dash.
