THE NASTY BOYS TALK ABOUT THEIR TIME IN THE WWF, WCW AND MORE
by Ernie Green @ 12:07:00 PM on 3/26/2006

Former WWE & WCW World Tag Team Champions, The Nasty Boys, were the
special guests on this past week's live edition (3/20/05) of Monday
Night Mayhem, which can be heard in streaming audio every week (and
live from 7-9PM ET every Monday night) exclusively on The Monday Night
Mayhem Radio Network (www.MondayNightMayhem.com,
www.WrestlingMediaNetwork.com, www.ObsessedWithWrestling.com, &
celebrating its 10th Anniversary, www.AudioWrestling.com -- your
official home of "The Spring Break Incident" Video-On-Demand, featuring
WWE RAW Diva & the hottest member of this past season's edition of
ABC's "Dancing With The Stars," Stacy Keibler).

The interview with Knobbs & Saggs is now available to hear for FREE in
Real Audio!

Here are highlights from the interview provided by the show's senior
correspondent, Ernie "BCW" Green.

=============================================================

The Big Mosh & Blade welcomed The Nasty Boys to the program, on the
heels of Knobbs returning to the second season of VH-1's "Hogan Knows
Best," and Saggs from a tremendous barbecue dinner. Knobbs apparently
hooked Mosh on one of the newer Mountain Dew energy drinks (from an
earlier meeting several months back), and both member of The Nasty Boys
said that simply is the "new way" to keep themselves "up" during the
day.

With WrestleMania only days away, Mosh asked The Nasty Boys what it was
like to be a part of "The Showcase Of The Immortals," mainly their
intense contest at WM VII, when they won the WWE World Tag Team Titles
from The Hart Foundation. Saggs said that it was great winning over
great guys like Bret "The Hitman" Hart & Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart &
also with The Road Warriors. They said it was a personal goal of theirs
to make WrestleMania. Knobbs said the event always gets you pumped up,
and the fans appreciate the fact they busted their ass for the fans.
They called it an "amped up situation." Knobbs said he still gets amped
up even though he's not a part of it. Saggs said it was the one time of
the year where the guys were giving 200% and wanted to give an effort
at WrestleMania.

Saggs then shifted gears and talked about WrestleMania VIII at The RCA
Dome in Indianapolis, IN, when himself, Knobbs, The Mountie, & The Repo
Man lost to Virgil, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Sgt. Slaughter, & The Big
Boss Man in the eight-man tag. Jerry loved the intensity in the match &
the build-up as well, even though it was a match lower on the night's
card. Both Knobbs & himself appreciated the opportunity to work in
front of 60,000+ fans that night, and was an experience they will never
forget.

They both said even though WrestleMania isn't what it used to be, it's
still a big deal, and everybody does the absolute best they can --
despite whatever limitations they might experience. Blade & Mosh ran
down the entire card from top to bottom, and even though Saggs & Knobbs
had to be briefed on a majority of the matches, they know the buzz is
in the air, just like prior 'Mania's. Everyone knew that The Rock vs.
"The Immortal" Hulk Hogan was going to happen when the seeds were
planted. Now, they had to be brutally honest -- both of them did not
even know who were in the matches. They did say events like Saturday
Night's Main Event is a great way to promote WrestleMania's & other
Pay-Per-View events. Collectively, they have watched a few of the
WrestleMania's since they left World Wrestling Entertainment, and have
noticed is that there are not even real celebrities at the event
anymore (such as Muhammad Ali at WrestleMania I, Willie Nelson at
WrestleMania VII, or Burt Reynolds at WrestleMania X). They did say to
wait until the PPV buyrate numbers come out to consider this particular
event a success or a failure.

The Big Mosh mentioned The Big Show & Kane vs. Carlito & Chris Masters
for the World Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 22. The Nasty Boys were a
little unfamiliar as to who "The Masterpiece" was, and after a little
description from Blade & Mosh, then called the WM contest a "mismatch."
Saggs said the only way beating a team like The Big Show & Kane would
be if an old-school team like the LOD or The British Bulldogs faced
them to get a chance, because they can then say the more cohesive team
has the better chance.

Knobbs said as long as he was a part of WrestleMania, that would be
fine for him. They said it wasn't a good feeling in WrestleMania IX in
Las Vegas, NV, when they were on the sidelines and everybody else was
wrestling. Not competing at that 'Mania was disappointing, but being
able to work both VII & VIII made their career a success and gave some
of their greatest memories they still carry with them today.

After the announcement of the man behind the AWA, Vergne Gagne, being
inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this upcoming Saturday night. Saggs
said that Gagne deserves to be in the HOF, and that he helped out The
Nasty Boys after they went into a tough training camp. Knobbs said that
Vince McMahon is honoring the other wrestling federations, and as well
he should because they know technically own all the federations. Saggs
said there was a lot of animosity between the old-school Gagne & the
new-school McMahon, but that has apparently subsided. They went over
the rest of the WWE HOF Class Of 2006, and the duo seemed pleased with
all the nominees. Saggs said he had dinner at the Guerrero's & Hart
households, and both him & his tag team partner strongly believe that
both families deserve to be a part of the Hall Of Fame ceremonies.
Knobbs, like many, feels that the business has to "stick together," and
by showing they respect the history of the business, then the business
will always move forward. Knobbs said that talented individuals, such
as Verne Gagne & "Ravishing" Rick Rude, brought them up and showed them
the ropes, and they'll always be grateful for that.

Jerry said that a good majority of those currently in the wrestling
business are negative and every time somebody dies, people
automatically think the worst. Knobbs fired back, by saying that
"people should check the facts before they print stories." Mosh filled
both of The Nasty Boys in on the new WWE Wellness program & the
negativity surrounding it. Knobbs admitted that he was busted by
testing before, and they were tested more than anybody in the day --
but the program stopped. Saggs stated that when it came to a lot of
things that are public knowledge now regarding the business (both past
& present), that those people did what they had to do to support
themselves & their families. They said that all wrestlers get banged up
and Saggs, at 42, feels banged up all the time, and that the current
wrestlers probably feel it do.

Mosh plugged the season premiere of the second season of "Hogan Knows
Best" on VH-1 -- and Saggs said that he missed his partner, who was on
the show "several times," according to Mosh. Knobbs said that he was
watching Brooke at the house, and comedy from there ensued. On this
week's episode, "The Immortal One" himself made Nick & Brooke get jobs
to accept more responsibilities. Knobbs also wanted to stress that he
gave Nick a little more grief for the anticsthat he pulled on him (when
he watched the kids during the first season) on this go-around.

Jerry compared today's current product vs. that of the older days, when
each territory fashioned a different style of wrestling. When you went
from territory to territory, you learned every realm of the business.
Nowadays, you have no idea how to appeal to each parts of the
countries, because there are no territories anymore. They said those
days will never be back again, and the fact that the talent really has
nowhere to learn hurts the business. Both Saggs & Knobbs feel that
there is not any real competition today, which also hurts the top
product (the WWE). He said "the thing has to be changed."

Blade asked the pair if they had watched TNA and what their thoughts
were on how they stack up with World Wrestling Entertainment. Knobbs
said he had not in awhile, but he did manage Charlie Haas recently at
an independent show, and thinks he has a serious chance to make it big
on his second stint with the "E" -- and most importantly, signing with
the WWE vs. TNA was one of the best moves that he could have made at
this point in his career. Knobbs also thinks that TNA "up-and-comer"
Lance Hoyt has a chance to make it big in the business. Saggs thinks
that the smaller wrestlers "do too many flops" and do not do enough to
tell the story in TNA -- and "it's overkill" in TNA. Knobbs & Saggs
both thought a projected Samoa Joe/Sabu "Six Sides Of Steel" Cage Match
at the next TNA Pay-Per-View (Lockdown) would be a good show. Knobbs
said it's good that somebody is trying to get to the next level, but is
not sure if TNA has what it takes to get there.

Mosh talked about the impact of the Legends in the WWE as of late (Road
Warrior Animal, Tatanka, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Mick Foley, etc) and
both Knobbs & Saggs both said they would be interested in coming back
to work for Vince, even for just a one-night deal.

Blade & The Big Mosh thanked The Nasty Boys for joining them again, and
wanted a Monday Night Mayhem T-shirt plugged on Hogan's reality show
for the whole world to see. Knobbs said he'll try to get the shirt onto
the show, and did admit that all four members of the Hogan clan have
one. Saggs joked he would wear it when he would be "washing Hogan's
car."

Other topics of interest in this 45+ minute interview include: which
internet journalist (in particular) that Knobbs has absolute disdain
for, the lowdown on Knobbs' recent appearance on NBC's "Tonight Show
With Jay Leno," their real & uncensored thoughts on Vince McMahon, the
dirt on the funniest "Hogan Knows Best" outtakes, and even more "nasty"
coverage of WrestleMania. You want to talk about an interview that will
keep you rolling, this is definitely the one -- as The Nasty Boys shot
hard on The Mayhem!

You can check out "Nasty Boy" Brian Knobbs on upcoming selected
episodes of the second season of VH-1's "Hogan Knows Best" -- airing
every Sunday night at 9:30PM ET/8:30PM CT. In addition, we encourage
all fans of The Nasty Boys to head on over to your local Wal-Mart or
log onto www.XWFDVD.com to purchase your copy of the "lost episodes" of
the XWF, a three-disc collector's edition -- which contain exclusive,
never-before-seen matches, uncut and uncensored material from the
cutting room floor, & behind-the-scenes footage of "The Immortal" Hulk
Hogan.

The March 20th edition of The Mayhem also included a spectacular
interview with two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion & WWE Hall Of
Famer, Don Muraco. What has "The Magnificent One" been up to since
WrestleMania XX and his induction day? Don has not done very many
interviews since retiring from the business, so we strongly encourage
you to listen to the entire 3/20 show. Time well spent, as you (the
wrestling fan reading this) count down until WrestleMania goes "Big
Time."
