A new Mid-Eastern Wrestling Federation heavyweight champion was crowned on
February 2 at the MEWF's monthly card at Teamsters Hall in Baltimore, as
BIG STEVIE COOL scored a victory and the MEWF belt for the Blue World
Order.
The card was also highlighted by the presentation of the second annual MEWF
achievement awards. Ring announcer AL ALBERT, MEWF commissioner TOM
KANARAS and the inimitable STUD LEE OSBORNE did the presentations.
On with the results:
STEVE CORINO (with ROYCE PROFIT) pinned CAT BURGLAR in 7:05
JIMMY CICERO received the "Newcomer of the year" award
STEVE CORINO received the "Most hated wrestler" award
Manager ROYCE PROFIT then announced that he had been to the copyright
office in Washington and had secured exclusive rights to the wrestling name
"EARL THE PEARL", and declared that the wrestler formerly known as JOHNNY
DESIRE would heretofore be known as EARL THE PEARL. The wrestler who had
been known as EARL THE PEARL took exception to all this, of course.
In what could be called a battle of Tinseltown, "PLAYBOY" (formerly "MR.
HOLLYWOOD") BOB STARR pinned HOLLYWOOD SUPER NOVA (with DA BLUE GUY aka
BLUE MEANIE) in 4:27. After the match, Starr beat up on both wrestlers
until he was Stevie-kicked from behind by STEVIE RICHARDS. Then, the BLUE
WORLD ORDER took turns scoring their own pinfalls (however unofficial) over
Starr.
STEVIE RICHARDS won the "Most popular wrestler" award
PABLO MARQUEZ pinned BODACIOUS PRETTY BOY (with PINKY, THE FLAMINGO KID) in
9:26
The MEWF light-heavy title match between "MIGHTY SEXY" QUINN NASH and champ
ADAM FLASH ended up in a no-contest declared by commissioner TOM KANARAS.
Due to the temporary blinding of the ref by powder thrown by STEVE CORINO,
Nash wound up pinning Corino as the ref counted to three. Kanaras declared
the title vacant and ordered a three-way ladder match at the March 2 card
between Nash, Corino and Flash to decide the title.
ADAM FLASH won "Most improved wrestler"
ROYCE PROFIT won "Best manager"
The "new" EARL THE PEARL (aka JOHNNY DESIRE, with ROYCE PROFIT) came out
for a match but was beaten up by the "old" EARL THE PEARL (aka nameless for
the moment).
The "Match of the year" award went to AXL ROTTEN vs. CORPORAL PUNISHMENT
STEVIE RICHARDS (aka BIG STEVIE COOL, with DA BLUE GUY aka BLUE MEANIE &
HOLLYWOOD SUPER NOVA) won the MEWF title by pinning AXL ROTTEN (with
Ginger Lynn Lucas) in 10:02
In a trash-can-top lumberjack match, with each lumberjack armed with a
trash can top, LUCIFER (KNIGHT OF THE ROAD) pinned CUEBALL CARMICHAEL
(subbing for the injured JOE THUNDER) in 4:49. The lumberjacks included
BOB STARR, MAD DOG O'MALLEY, STEVE CORINO, BLUE MEANIE, the wrestler
formerly known as EARL THE PEARL, ADAM FLASH, SUPER NOVA, PABLO MARQUEZ and
TIM THE MEWF STOOGE.
A special "Commissioner's award for service" went to LUCIFER (KNIGHT OF THE
ROAD)
THE HEADBANGERS (MOSH & THRASHER, with JEFF JONES & ISIS) retained their
MEWF tag belts with a pinfall over THE SAMOAN GANGSTER PARTY (MATTY SMALLS
& COCO SAMOA, with ROYCE PROFIT). After the match, the 'Bangers fired
their manager and announced that this would be their last MEWF match, as
they were going full time in the WWF. They proceeded to kick the daylights
out of Jones, and they were soon joined by fellow kickers AXL ROTTEN and
CORPORAL PUNISHMENT. The crowd gave the 'Bangers a warm sendoff. It was a
great eight months! The Headbangers handed their titles over to
commissioner Kanaras, who declared a tag-team title tournament to begin
next month.
KNUCKLES ZANWICH won "Rookie of the year"
ECW champion RAVEN pinned KNUCKLES ZANWICH in 6:50
CHRIS CANDITO (with MISS PATRICIA) pinned CORPORAL PUNISHMENT in 8:13.
Patricia, who said she was there with Sunny's blessing, turned on Candito
during the match, but it didn't help.
MARK SHRADER won "Inspirational Wrestler"
MARK SHRADER won "Wrestler of the year"
"DANGEROUS" DEVON STORM & MARK"THE SHARK" SHRADER pinned JASON "THE SEXIEST
MAN ALIVE" KNIGHT and "WISE GUY" JIMMY CICERO (with ROYCE PROFIT & BRITTANY
BOSOMS) in 19:15
