What carbs do you have listed on your Ultimate F/S SJ? Might want to make it
either single or dual SRE 48's. Lenzi, Roy, Malone are all running them, although
I think Malone is the only one with duals. Looks funky with two stock single air
filters off a pre-96 ski but I guess they work.

Darin,
I have thought about using a dual carb setup in the past and opted for it only
when it has the FA setup like Eric Malones. The most important reason that a
dual carb setup is not on my list currently is because most freestylers have
more in the water moves. By this I mean that the average enthusiast doesn't
complete areal barrel rolls followed by some spill proof hoodriding. Their
routine usually consits of a sub or two, fountain, and some falls inbetween.
Again since the average Joes doens't have dual bilges and quad duckbills the
water from the tricks is more prone to get into his carbs and stop the fun.
Finally 99% of us don't have a $2500 Wammer or Maros hood setup to further
decrease the water in the engine cabin like the pros have.
Rick Roy also used dualies in last years Wfs. I got to take a sneak peak at his
boat and chat with him for a few mins. He had the engine setup on his website
and dual carbs with stock FAs and the PreFilter covers. In the bottom of his
boat there were 2 sponges.
The way that I look at the dual carb situation is this: If your boat has them
stay with them and up(or rather down)grade the FA to pre 96. If your boat has a
single carb stay with that, also. There are other ways to get acceleration out
of your boat.
Hope this helped.

BTW look for an update by this monday!
I got to talk to Ed Brazina about his carbs at the WV stop during Pro F/S. Both
Malone and Lenzi are running his carbs and you can tell they have more snap than
most boats. (Granted Malone has a 'special' engine) The point being that it seems
like the BMR carbs (not Buckshot BRM's) work very well at some of the lower rpm
ranges during a freestyle routine. I'm considering getting a single for my SXi,
but am going to try a single 44mm Buckshot since it's available from a friend.

Ahhh, I understand now. I have never heard of these carbs before. However, If
the majority of the pros use them they must be worthy of the list :-) Is there
a website or a number I could call to talk with Ed? I'd like to know exactly
how much kick these carbs give and of course how much they are.
