No other conference has as many 11-win teams this year.
Big Ten is #1!
That's something to be proud of for sure.

Add in Wisconsin, and the Big Ten's top 4 stacks up with anybody this
year. The rest of the conference wasn't so hot, though.
They will win the bowl season, if bama loses thursday. Very impressive
B10 performances in the bowls.

What was nice is the way they won too. Solid, solid defense.
Balanced offense.

You're counting the (overtime) Arkansas win against the conference USA
team, eh?
Cheers.
No, a win against an unranked non-BCS opponent isn't worth factoring in.
If Bama wins, the SEC will trump the Big10 based on the quality of their
BCS wins. The SEC will have won the most important game of all, and
their two BCS wins will be of clearly higher-quality, coming against the
BCS #2 and #3 ranked teams, compared to #7 and and #9 for the Big 10.

Kudos!
Yes, all 4 Big 10 winners did it by imposing their Big10 style -
punishing, physical defense combined with tough inside running and
efficient passing - on the losers. It was an impressive display.
How do you factor in the way the Big Ten #3 dispatched the SEC #3 in
fairly easy manner? Les Miles' first bowl loss, after all.
I guess you have Northwestern giving the game to Auburn to offset that
though.
Cheers.

19-17 with LSU robbed at the end by a bad personal foul flag that should
have been thrown against the PSU player delaying the game = "fairly easy"?
lol.

What's impressive is that they've "earned" the right to be in the top
10 by not having beaten an OOC who will finish in the top 10. And yet
people complain about whether Boise or TCU or the others "deserved" to
be in the top ten with very similar schedules a few days ago.
No, you're wrong again, as usual.
The bowl season winners were the MWC and the Big East.
TMML.
You can only play who they put in front of you, right?
It's the same conversation every year ... whoever they put in front of
you versus who you schedule, when you lose, what conference you're
from, whether you were highly regarded at the beginning of the year or
not.
It will be interesting to see where TCU winds up. They're lone loss
is a "better" loss than any of the three B10 teams and they have a
better record than any of the three, with arguably a better road OOC
win (Clemson).
Sure, TCU lost to Boise, but it was about the same as what Boise beat
Oregon by, which is about the same as what OSU beat Oregon.
So does TCU drop like a stone, falling past OSU and/or the rest of the
Big Ten teams?
that's because you're a chimp.

Just when I thought you couldn't post anything more silly ... you come
with this: nothing.
the bigten's 1, 2, and 3 werent separated by much.......hence why they
were so jumbled up in the rankings and had the same record. the sec's
1 and 2 obviously did separate themselves from the rest of the
league....
if bama beats texas, the sec would have won the national title, beaten
the #2 and #3 teams in bowl games, and that would obviously push them
easily into best bowl season....
if texas beats bama though, I'd say the big12 and bigten have the best
cases to be winners in the bowl challenge matchup......

Your Jarosian attempts to move the goal posts post de facto is hereby
noted and rejected.
The MWC and the Big East have already wrapped up the bowl challenge
titles, respectively.
Dismissed!
so poinsetta bowls and international bowls count as much as the rose
bowl, sugar bowl, the mnc game, etc?
A better road win, but the neutral wins over Georgia Tech and Oregon.
Clearly, the Georgia Tech win has to be considered above Clemson based
on conference HTH. Maybe they didn't beat any top 10 teams, but the
Big Ten did beat two conference champions.

I hope TCU doesn't drop too far, and Boise moves up. After all, Boise
already had a good win over Oregon, and TCU's other opponents - BYU,
Utah, Clemson, Air Force, all had good bowl wins. If Ohio State
passes TCU, I don't think it's that big a deal though.
My Top 10 right now:
1. Bama-Texas winner
2. Boise State
3. Bama-Texas loser (depending on final score)
4. TCU
5. Florida
6. Cincinnati
7. tOSU
8. Iowa
9. PSU
10. U$C
There was NEVER a weighted credit for certain bowl wins in the Bowl

Nor is there one in 2009-2010:

yes, with the edge going to the B10, based on two BCS bowl wins.

Correct, which just goes to show how stupid and meaningless the "bowl

Because *I* invented the Bowl Challenge Cup.
Gotcha.

you could just as easily have written "over Georgia and Oregon State".
Stevie, if you use your crayons to write rude things, they'll be taken
away. Now you behave.
I would take the Big Ten wins with a grain of salt, two of them came
against ACC opponents.
The Zookster will return stronger than ever! Or... not.

well like I said if bama beats texas tommorrow there is really no
question who won the practical bowl challenge, but if not you've got
to look at the bigten win over oregon as pretty good, and then
supporting wins over lsu and miami(two decent but not good
teams).....add in a way over a shitty gatech team and Im blanking on
their other win, and they could claim the practical bowl
challenge.....if bama loses.....
if texas wins it really comes down to how much of a boost do you give
the b12 for winning "the game" over the #1 team......if it's a lot the
edge goes to the big12. If it's a small extra boost the edge prolly
goes to the big10.....
even more support for a playoof
