Eng are 2.5 on Betfair.au, I'll have some of that.

The difference between 1 through 5 was not that much (in ranking points). Then there was a big gap before the next bunch at 6, 7, 8. Then another substantial gap and then WI who are tied with Afghanistan currently at 1-1.

Pakistan's scores (albeit rain affected) were 164, 119, 237. That must be one of the lowest aggregate of runs over three matches to make it to a semifinal. SL's catching today was reminiscent of Pakistan's against India.

England are the only unbeaten side.

Bangladesh perhaps got a bit lucky at the expense of Aus and NZ. It could have been one victory each for Aus, NZ and BD if rain had not intervened.

If Amir bowls as good as he has over the past 3 matches, Pakistan has a chance.

India's fielding which has deteriorated under Kumble is as comical as that of SL and Pakistan. One of the runouts against RSA because of a bad throw from Bumrah (I think.)

Hope the rain stays away.

So far off the 11 matches that produced results the lower ranked team in a given match won 7 times.

For the 7 matches between the group of top 5 (SA, Aus, Ind, NZ, Eng) and the bottom 3 (BD, SL, Pak), the bottom three won 4.

The ICC should rename it 'The Bookies Trophy'.

How much did you lose this time?

The last 7 matches were won by the lower ranked team all of them batting second.

Much less than the crash of 2005.

Seriously have you ever got it right?

Luckily I liquidated my short term assets in 2007 before Lehman Brothers
and am slowly doing the same now

8 games in a row now the team batting second won.
The captain winning the toss in the final is likely to bat second:

Pakistan have done so in all games where they won the toss. They feel the bowling is good enough to restrict more often than not and they batsmen can then play relatively mildly. batting first the batsmen are under pressure to put up a high score.

India too have the SL game to look back at where they felt they did nothing too wrong. The score was good, the bowling was ok but the score was overhauled.

The odds
Pak 2.75 ~35%
Ind 1.5 ~65%

Wonder if they will change drastically after the toss.
