Andrew,

How's the book coming? Have you given it to your editor/publisher yet?

Due date is Monday, May 11th, we got one more extension, from May 1st. We are in the final polish stage now, that's why we asked for the extra week, which they were glad to give. The tighter it is the less work for them to do when they get the manuscript.

Getting my new editor, Lindsey Tate, in early February was a Godsend. It freed up Wendy, my wife, to take over putting all the research together. I equate research with homework, which is one of the many things that are not playing the guitar and therefore on my "undesirable to do" list. I do enjoy the storytelling part of the book, the anecdotal stories. We also had a lot of enthusiasm from the medical and music & medicine experts. I think readers will find a lot of interesting things in this book. I hope so!

Thanks for asking, hope you are well,

Andrew

For early risers or those with DVRs, the film will be shown again on Thirteen/WNET on Wednesday, May 13th at 5:00 a.m.

Josh Aronson, the director/producer, would like people to know the DVD is available for purchase at his website. Most documentary films are funded by grants and donations, as have all Aronson's previous films. He liked this story so much he funded it out of his own pocket and I hope he makes his money back, at the least.

He was a WONDERFUL guy to work with, a quintessential professional. Here's the link to his page: http://aronsonfilms.com/projects.html

All done. Manuscript was submitted May 11th, was provisionally accepted on the 26th with request from the publisher for minor edits and expansion of some of the science of music and medicine, and was given final acceptance yesterday. FWIW, the publisher, in his words, is "thrilled" with the book. I give huge credit to my editor, Lindsey Tate, who joined the project at the beginning of February. We completely rewrote, not revised, the book in just over 3 months.

Release is slated for August 2016. It takes a long time for a major publisher to prepare a world-wide release Being my first book, I had no idea what the process is.

So, that's the story!
