Actually, I still think Nas is a very superior MC. After dropping an
album like Illmatic, and that famous verse on 'Live at the BBQ', I just

'It Was Written', on the other hand, is triple shit, total played-out

i don't like monotonous nas' flow, but then again, i'm tired
of pretty much a lot of nowadays flow. it bores me to tears.
almost all that stuff on the stretch & bobbito show on
loud radio internet was so stoopid; subject matter-wise
as well as that flow that everyone seems to be using. (i cannot
see how mobb deep is so dope...i must be getting really

Hell, all rap is commercial.
Rap has been commercial ever since the late 1980s when white kids decided they liked it.
But all popular forms of music are commercial. They have to be. That's how artists make a living.
People should be asking whether the artist has a true love and passion for the form.
Some artists -- and I use that term loosely -- such as Marky Mark, Vanilla Ice, etc. -- are solely in it for the money or fame or to try to be "down."
I can't really diss Hammer too hard, because even though I'm not a fan of his, he's shown heart by staying in the game for so long, despite all the criticism he's gotten.
That's a man who loves what he does, and I have to respect that, although I still won't buy one of his albums.
Nas doesn't have enough albums under his belt to get props for staying power -- yet -- but it is obvious from his mastery of the form and the ease with which butta lyrics flow from his tongue that the man loves what he does.
I'm sure he'll be around for a long time, and I, for one, would be more than happy if he is.
