Very interesting and no one will know your score.
This is a terrific test. And it shows results in a number of ways.
It sure indicates that the majority of Americans don't know what's
going on. No wonder our politicians take such advantage.
It's astonishing that so many people got fewer than half right. These
results say that 80% of the (voting) public don't have a clue - and
that's pretty scary to say they vote. There are no tricks here - just
a simple test to see if you are current on your information.

booie.....
I got 9 out of 12 right.
Somebody sent me that at work yesterday, I got 12 of 12, honest.
I got 10 out of 12 to finish in the 96th percentile.

I got em all right; along with only 1% of the population.
To be fair, I live in Europe, so the UK Prime Minister question was
easy for me, whereas for most Americans, it's probably not. But they're
pretty easy questions for the most part.

I got 11 out of 12. I thought that we were spending more money on the
interest on the National Debt than on Defense

Huh, interesting.
When you look at the results, you can see where most people get them
wrong. TARP and Android are the two biggies. I'm not surprised about
the TARP question, as the Repugs, who created it, wanted to foist it on
the Dems, saying it's their fault, and pretending that all that money
was spent (it wasn't) and none was repaid (most has been already).

Yes. Hayward's the BP CEO.

2/12.....what the fuck?
God. I knew that would be embarrassing. Thanks.
11 out of 12. Thought I missed a couple more than that. This must have
been very easy, I couldn't possibly be that smart.
I missed question #7, the one about the national inflation rate. It
says only 14% of the public got that one right.
I read Talking Points Memo blog and about three other political blogs
several times a day. Although many pundits bemoan the state of
political discourse these days, that we can choose the news bias we
want and hear only that, there is a very real difference between those
wingnut blinders and the left of center POV blogs.
The Right famously constructs its own reality, as demonstrated by, say
Fox News or arguments against the health care bill that call it "job
killing" and claim it will hurt the deficit. The Big Lie is at the
core of right wing politics, in most of their arguments. The left has
its own biases, of course. Some might say the predictions of savings
in the health care bill could be optimistic-- but I think the numbers
most people cite are the CBO (i.e. non-partisan) numbers.
By contrast, the right is happy to foment and tolerate a strategy that
implies Obama is not a citizen, when everyone in power in GOP politics
knows this is a malicious but useful lie, in undercutting people's
support of the President. Likewise, Droopy Dog Lieberman exits stage
left claiming to Arianna Huffington that "We found the WMDs,
sweetheart!" when this is demonstrably untrue.
Here ya go Bro, I'm sure you will clean up on this one:

I got 11/12, for some reason I guessed all the TARP was paid back, bad
guess I guess. I'd like to see average score based on what party you
identify with. My guess is teabaggers will bring up the rear.
Mike
Heh. I did the same thing.... I knew I had heard Hayward in
association with British something or other... got the rest right...
Read a few blogs a day and they manage to keep me informed.
So, what blogs do you and John D. read? John mentioned Talking Points
Memo blog . . .
TPM
Daily Kos
Think Progress
Huffington Post
Mother Jones
Huffington Post is can't miss reading . . . imo.
Thanks, T!

I read all those, but mostly during election cycles (which are getting
to be almost permanent;-)
Here's the urls for my regulars:
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/
excellent "old school" model journalism. They employ quite a few shoe
leather reporters of sorts, and are helmed by a guy who has written
for the Atlantic, Washington Monthly, etc.
http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/
Occasionally leans a little inside DC, but again, leans on old school
methods of reporting with some attitude.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/
covers politics, entertainment, comedy, what have you...
http://motherjones.com/kevin-drum
Drum used to write the Wash Monthly blog. He's a very reasonable,
center-left guy based in San Diego
This one is not a blog, but a magazine, really; but good, reliable,
journalism with a left of center flavor. They exposed the philandering
of much of Clinton's impeachers (Henry Hyde, Bob Barr, etc.) back in
the day and the Abu Gharaib photos more recently as well.
KOS & ThinkProgress and a few others I dip into less frequently.
Holy CRAP.
Got 3 right on that one and guessed at them all. I got 9 on the Gov't
one, which is why I try not to get too involved with them threads.

12 of 12.
Thanks, John!
I got the google on phone wrong and didn't read unemployment and picked
actual vs reported unemployment figure.
Me too.

It is amazing to me how out-of-touch people are. Most all of us here
are in the top quarter, if not higher. I keep aware of current
events, but wouldn't consider myself a political junkie, but guess I
am.
