KARAJAN SACRED & CHORAL RECORDINGS NEW DG 29CD SET FEBUARY 2017

For any Karajan fans interested a new 29CD set in the same format as the 4 big DG sets is released in Febuary.
Karajan The Sacred & Choral Recordings.
All the recordings in this new set are already in the 4 big DG sets so does anyone have any idea what has prompted Universal to release such a set, apart from making more money ?

Are the "4 big DG sets" from the Japanese branch of the company?

No - its the 60's, 70's, 80's & Opera Recordings sets that are readily available from most retailers.

That's why the Japan branch is selling a different selection.

No - this 29cd set is a European release - it's nothing to do with it being a Japanese only release. The set is also on Amazon Germany & Amazon France - it is a world wide release pressed in Europe, nothing to do with being a Japan only relelase. CD releases are always advertised first on Japanese websites for some unexplainable reason before they hit european websites.
