Just arriving home from a trip into town, and the Walrus played, David
Cassidy singing, "I Think I Love You".

Never was much of a Partridge fan, but I enjoyed their music-
especially the melodies.

NIGGER

The one word that sends assholes like you off in a tizzy.

N I doubleGG ER

Like the one up there in DC (The District of Coons)... Obama. He's a
NIGGER, Mac the RAT. A NIGGER.

Ever wonder why there's so many nigger in DC, Mac the RAT...? Because
that's where all of the social services are! Just like in any capitol
of any state in the country. Wall to wall blacks. And that means wall-
to-wall MURDERS! RAPES! ROBBERIES! Just like where ever they land.
Even in an otherwise unassuming thing like a nice quiet white
neighborhood. THEY move in and automatically the crime rate goes up.
The whites move out and the coons move in. Thanks to the lowered home
values brought on by the sudden episode of white flight. Within a year
it's a SLUM. A GHETTO. And a NEW place for the liberal element to
concentrate their misplaced sympathies on! Like, they never check back
into public records or ask around to see what the place was like
before. All they can concentrate on is how "poor" and "disadvantaged"
the sorry nigger scum is!
This is why we are dead-set against things like Jimmy Carter's Homes
For (sub)Humanity. Because this is what happens when JUST ONE family
of nigs moves in. Eventually. Notice too how Carter builds the house
but never returns to see the mess that he's created. Know why....?
Because he's afraid of getting MUGGED. Just like you, Mac the RAT.
Just like you.
Where do YOU live, Mac the RAT? Probably in some nice white-as-rice
suburb somewhere near a police station and an army base, no doubt. And
if you live in a ‘mixed’ neighborhood, well then, be ready for the
near future! Because it’s really a neighborhood in transition! Just as
sure as the sun rises in the East, it can and will happen. Blacks move
in… whites move out. I mean, look at what the nigger devils did to
Detroit already
Coming soon to a world near yours, I have no doubt.

Cross reference with The Cowsills

I had not heard the song for decades until the Walrus played it today,
and I always wondered why it reminded me of The Beatles. Found this:

" 'I Think I Love You' is the song that put The Partridge Family on
the map. Phenomenally successful, the song hit number one and stayed
there for sixteen weeks. It was voted the number one song for 1970,
and is still permeating the public consciousness to this day. The song
features the harpsichord, which Farrell decided to utilize for The
Partridge Family due to its light and cheerful sound. The chord
structure is a classic example of Tony Romeo's songwriting style,
which uses inverted chords to maintain a chromatic bass line. Larry
Knechtel's harpsichord solo seems inspired by George Martin's piano
solo on The Beatles' "In My Life". Reportedly, as Knechtel was
recording the solo, he broke into laughter which had to be edited out
of the final mix. Cassidy's classic double-tracked vocal works
extremely well in this song, no doubt the prime mover of its success."

Is there some confusion here?

The Walrus is San Diego's 105.7 FM station that plays oldies. Heavily
into The Beatles. Breakfast with the Beatles every Sunday morning for
three hours. Excellent program, lots of trivia. You can listen
online.

They were playing David Cassidy singing ITILY as I was driving home
from town yesterday. Hadn't heard it in decades. One of those songs
that brings back memories; I had just started my freshman year at Penn
State in 1970.

They took their name from the fact that Psilocybin mushrooms grew in
Cow patties... hence... The Cowsills.

I hope you're joking, because that is so incorrect it's not funny.

Their actual surname was and is "Cowsill". The family has led a
fascinating and sometimes tragic life, including Barry's death in New
Orleans during Hurricane Katrina, and his brother Bill's death on the
day of Barry's funeral.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cowsills

I think they were one of the best harmony vocal groups of the era, and
had the potential to rise above their bubblegum roots. Some of the
family members have put out some excellent music since then. I
especially like some of Susan's solo albums and her work The
Continental Drifters (with her husband-to-be Peter Holsapple from the
dBs). Barry put out at least one rootsy rock solo album that I like a
lot. Susan has appeared in a couple episodes of the TV series "Treme"
(but I don't think she got any speaking lines.)

People have all kinds of guilty pleasures they don't admit
until they get older. You should know that.

Excellent, although I have a nostalgic fondness for the original.

Tis interesting how Romeo wrote the melody. He put a kind of nervous
tension - almost melancholy beginning with each verse until the end
where he happily emotes his feelings about her. Worked out
wonderfully.

Apologies, I was not familiar with a radio station called The Walrus.
I thought from the punctuation in the opening post you heard two
songs-- (I am the) Walrus and the David Cassidy song.
For me when I hear the phrase 'the Walrus played" with a comma
following, I thought you meant one of my favorite Beatles songs.

Perhaps I am like Semilina Pilchard, climbing up the Eiffel Tower one
too many times :)
I will go back to sitting in my "English" garden.......on my
cornflake....

The little girl in The Cowsills is about my age. They actually wanted
them for The Partridge Family but not the mother. I don't think they
could have kept up their act for the life of the show anyway.

I believe it's just a really lame attempt at a joke.
