Sure...... If you can ride it like a 125 for 70 miles.

I would think that a lighter bike would be easier to ride for long distances.
You are a lot busier on a 125, but the physical effort involved seems to be
less. Plus the KTM 200 is supposed to have power comparable to 250s. It just
lacks a hard hit.
I've been at the Honda/KTM dealer a few blocks from the house and checked out
the KTMs. I've also been questioning whether I would rather want a 200 or a
250. My YZ has too much power for most of the tight trails I've been on
lately. I spend way too much effort keeping the front end down and keeping the
rear end from passing me in the turns.
The only downside I see from the small bikes are increased maintenance and for
wide open trails - power.
I sure would like to hear some opinions from 200EXC owners.

Hey Lee,
Alan Gravitt rode a KTM 200 Limited Edition to the overall win at the
Armadillo Enduro last august. And I think he overalled the Sandlapper
in S. Carolina, also a sandy race with lots of whoops. It's a capable
mount, if you are up to the task.

I have a friend who is currently racing a 200 LE(?) in the AA class of the
RMEC. He claims the 200 is the best bike he's ever owned. He is 6'5 and
goes about 230#. His results have improved dramatically from last year when
he was aboard an XR400, and the year before when racing a CR125. Results
don't lie much. ;)
He claims he'd hurt himself on a 250. He's a hard charger and a 250
might get him in trouble quicker.
OBTW, get well soon.

Yeah. It lacks a LOT of the hit.

So buy and enduro 250 instead of an MX 250. My RMX doesn't have the
brutal low end my '93 YZ 250 had. Just as much (if not more) on top
though. Nice for making up time in the faster sections.

But, the 200 doesn't have the weight of a 250, (especially an RMX).
I could probably stand to give up a little power to save a bunch of
weight.

I've ridden a 300 EXC (aka, "The Big Comfy Couch") back-to-back with
the 200 EXC. Given the 300 is the same chassis and bottom end I'd say
they are similiar. I'd take the 200 over the 300 and most likely the
250 any day. The handling is a joy and for enduro the 200 makes
plenty of power and excellent grunt. It's like a 125 on steroids.
The 300 feels large but I could definitely race it. The 300 turns
pretty well (96) even after just getting off my CR. The 300 has
deceptive power as compared to the 200. It has no hit, even with all
the power valve washers removed but it gets you going fast in a hurry.
The 200 has more of a "hit" (FWIW) so it feels a bit zappier. I still
don't like either throttle, it takes too much rotation to open it all
the way up.

I thought the 200 chassis & engine cases were based on the 125 and then
a different chassis/engine cases for the 250/300/380 ... so if you
compare the 200 and the 250 you are really comparing much more than just
the engine (as opposed to looking at a 250 vs 300 ... just engine
differences there).
Who knows ... :-)

Gee Steve, it made perfect sense to me...taken in context you were
relating the 300 to the 250, because I asked about a back to back
comparison of the 250 to the 200, and you had ridden the 300 and the
200. Thanks for your earlier comments.

Sorry, Dave, my mistake. I meant the 300 shares a bottom end and
chassis with the 250 AFAIK. S

How much do these things go for? Just curious.
