I recent;y purchased a Taurus PT-111 9mm for concealed carry and have
been mostly pleased so far. OK, the front sight dot DID fall out
after the ninth shot (filled it with Liquid Paper), but I haven't had
any jams after 60 rounds so far and no rattling mags.

One gripe though however. The magazine supplied with the weapon has
the new extender floor plate installed. While this is a nice option,
I'd rather have the original mag floor plate for better concealed
carry. I want to keep the extender to use on a second magazine.

I've struck out trying to find a customer service email address on
Taurus's web site. I tried to call their listed number but got a busy
signal all day.

Does anybody know of an email address for Taurus customer service?
Thanks!

I'd change your name Jonah Hex. Jonah Hex is a D.C. Comics character, and
there is no other company that is more anti-gun than D.C. Comics. --

Good luck I have a Model 85 that was defective out of the box, they held it
for a month threw a new main spring and hammer in it and shipped it back to
missing the cylinder stop spring and plunger. I have owned this gun for
almost two months and it still doesn't work.

Call the number on back of the manual. Hope you have better luck with your
PT-111 then I have with mine. I have a concealed carry also but will not
carry the PT-111 as the magazines rattle while walking. Taurus has no fix
for it & blames the magazine maker MecGar, they know about this problem but
no fix. Customer service even told me this is the way it is.

Nope. I've tried. Near as I can tell, you can only contact them by mail
or talk to an operator if you call. I've wondered about this. S&W and
Kimber have great email service.

They could really stand to hire some people and have web service.
They're the type of company that would do a good job at it. Maybe
they're just waiting to be able to set it up right? I don't know. I hope so.

This question relates to the "Re: Need Taurus customer service email
address" thread.

Taurus makes a fine gun (mine is the Tracker .357 in Titanium), however
their customer service is sorely lacking. Been months since I inquired by
letter with a question concerning my Tracker. Since they won't answer,
perhaps one of you folks will know: the gun came with an allen wrench that
seems to fit an allen screw on the bottom of the handle. I believe it
ajusts the trigger tension, but I'm not sure and am reluctant to fool with
it, for fear of screwing up some setting. Does anyone out there know what
this wrench is for and if so, what the pertinent parameters are for
adjusting whatever it is adjusting? Thanks.

My understanding is that Taurus does not have a customer service e-mail for
two reasons.
1)Taurus feels that they cannot reply to all e-mail in a timely manner, and
would prefer to speak in person to the customer, or to have the customer
first speak with an authorized dealer.
2)Taurus has experienced problems with the antis mailbombing their e-mail
systems.

I suggest that you first contact the Taurus dealer that sold you the
firearm. He will have more time to spend with you, the individual
customer, and will be speaking with you face to face.

I contacted Taurus by mail and received a written response that they do
not and will not have an e mail address.

You're not talking about that safety lock are you? There's that screw in
the back of the hammer. They give you a little hollow allen-shaped key
to lock and lock it. Is that what you're talking about?

Thanks for your response, but no, that's not it. This is an allen nut/screw
at the base of the handle ... on the underside of the handle, where you
would rest it in the palm of your hand with a two-hand hold. Can anybody
help?

I own a Taurus tracker in 357 titanium with a 4inch barrel, is it possible to change the barrel to a shorter one, because I would like to carry it concealed if it's so how much is the cost and what should I do?

It has been several years but I had bad results with Taurus customer
service. I had ordered an available part for a pistol scope mount and
it did not come through. I dealt with them for months to no avail and
finally got a mount that needed a gunsmith to install.

I know a good gunsmith and if this was my problem I would bounce the
question off of him. I would think that if a barrel is not available he
could trim yours down. Years ago I did one myself on a muzzle loader.

Even with a shorter barrel a Tracker is not going to be that much easier to conceal. It'll
never be a pocket gun. I'd keep it at 4 inches (really only 3 inches, because on a Tracker
the last inch is a built-in muzzle brake), and look for a holster and clothing that would
help me conceal it.
