You should also try the Detroit Red Wings. They have an incredible front
line.

They are the team I always use, and I don't get too far with them. Hehehe.

Well, when I get the puck i usually go to the right side all the way to the red
net line then skate to the other side of the rink a little in front of the
goalie.
Since the goalie isn't very fast, he leaves a part of the net wide open.

Or, (and this is my most successful strategy) you go straight for the goalie
then start zigzagging like this:

| ---------------the goalie usually ends up on the
other side, then you shoot and score
/
\
/
\
----------| ------------------- red line
|
|------------you

If you didn't understand my art , you just zigzag until you get close to the
net
(try to stay in center rink) and then you shoot in the hole the goalie leaves
in net. I ALWAYS score this way and the goalie ends up looking at the puck
going
past him.

And if you still don't understand me, use the other technique.
And if you STILL don't understand, buy yourself Sonic & Knuckles and play that,
:)

My record for body-checks (that I remember) is 171 in a game (no OT). I
can, in an average game, rack up about 50 a period. Also, I usually find
that the computer usually completes more passes than I ATTEMPT, and he
usually completes tham at 60%, and I'm usually down around 30% or lower...
Then again, I do get 70 shots a game... anyone else?

I agree completly. The computer follows specific patters that you
can easily figure out after playing it a few times. Scoring goals against
the computer is easy, since there are certain tricks that work everytime.
I suggest making it harder by trying to score without using any cheap tricks.

I'm talking about NHL '94, I don't have '95 (and from what I've heard
about it, I'm not buying it). I play 20 minute periods and I set Line
changes to AUTO (instead of off so I don't have the same 5 guys scoring
all my goals). And I set a new personal record today, 175 body checks by
my Habs against the Pens. I play against the computer, If I was playing
against a human, I wouldn;t be counting checks, I'd be counting goals. I
completed 28% of my passes, the computer completed 66%. Oh, and I won
6-1. Hard to stop those fluke goals, usually 1 or two a game. I've never
had a shutout (on full 20 minute periods). That's all, I guess...

the zig-zag technique works nicely, but to give yourself a better
chance at scoring make sure you end up taking a fore hand shot. The
back hand shot usually is much weaker and less acurate. The goalie
usually has no problem saving it.

I'll tell you, the best way to score is by taking a defensman down the
side boards then passing to the center from the end of the face off
circle for a one timer. This doesn't always work, but about 70% of the
time it will, but make sure to always use the defenseman to bring it
This will almost always garuntee the presence of a offensive player
in front of the net.

Big deal. So you get 100+ body checks in a game. Betcha didn't know that
when you hit guys AFTER the whistle, they register as body checks. So how
many of the actual checks occur DURING play, and how many don't. That's
not the way to prove you're the man in NHL '94.

Ya, I did know that (I think everyone does by now...) I figure I get
about 20 or 30 hits a game that way... And my new record is 183 hits. I
never said I was "the man" in NHL'94. Sorry, but this game isn't my life,
I just play it for fun. There are probably a million people out there who
can kill me at it. Someone just brought up # of checks as a great way of
seeing how your game went...

171 checks who cares, I bet you do this in a twenty minute game.
I played a twenty minute game as New York Rangers against the Ottowa
Senators and scored 105 goals.

I would have been impressed had you scored 105 with Ottawa against the
Rangers. (: Btw, did you use line changes?

I kinda got tired of scoring when I started averaging in the upper 40's
taking Dallas through the playoffs. (I needed a break from playing LA). The
only challenge at that point, besides playing for a shutout, was trying to get
each player points, and if possible each a goal. Of course, I almost never
could get the goalies a goal. (:

Wow... the Sens... some tough competition. Hey, did you have any more
difficulty against the Ducks?

I find that a great way to improve the competitiveness of my games is to
play the entire game without a goalie. That is actually fun. Forget
stopping the other team from scoring. You gotta stop 'em from SHOOTING!!
Basically, if they get posession of the puck and they cross the red line,
it's a goal (unless you're playing some loser team like the ducks or Sens...)

Hey stupid,

I don't play the senators, I just wanted to see how many goals I could score,
I never play with the keeper, unless I'm playing another person or in a season
(NHL 95). I'd kick your ass any time.
