This is an observation in Slashem, but maybe it's valid for NH-343 (and
maybe also NH-36x)...?

I lured a pet cat/dog onto a polytrap and it turned to a master lich.
I saw it taking a pair of uncursed boots from a heap and putting it on,
so I took a cursed mummy wrapping from that heap an dropped it on top.

The master lich picks up a cursed mummy wrapping {3}.
The master lich puts on a cursed mummy wrapping {3}.

Is that a special case here? - Normally pets should not pick up cursed
items (or step on them without reluctance).

This was discussed here last September in a thread initiated by
you. In slash'em, tame undead and demons avoid blessed items
and treat cursed ones as ordinary.

Argh, I see. Sorry for having picked up that same theme again. (You
obviously have a much better memory that I have.) I had just in mind
someone who was asking recently (in January) in a post about picking
up cursed things, and I feared that I could have posted wrong details
in January.
