Get your Timeshock! table manual that came with the game, go to page 21 and
check out the bottom of the page where it says NOTE: Some menu
options...blah...blah...blah....
You'll find your answer here. Cheers,
David.
If you will look in the manual, it indicates that the
features and adjustments that are locked will eventually
become unlocked after a sufficient number of games have
been played. What that magic number is, who knows.
Yeah, I was a bit miffed too when I saw so many things that
were locked!

My adjustments say I have little over 16 hours play time now and most of
the settings are unlocked. Some major ones (like number of balls) are
still locked.
Is anybody who has them all unlocked willing to share their
game.dat/game.cfg files from the Timeshock directory with the
rest of us?

Boy, into instant gratification, eh? :-)
Seems the least you could do is hack the files if you're going to go that
route (instead of letting someone else do the work...)
Did you hear the quote -- I forget where I saw it posted -- from some
jerk who sent to the makers of Myst/Riven: "I downloaded all the hints
from the Internet and it only took me 4 hours to finish. Please make the
next one harder."
Anything worth having is worth working for IMHO.

Well, I've had the game for four months or so and I play it several
times every week. For some reason the play time is not bigger than 16
hours - I would have estimated it to be a lot larger. Anyway, playing 8
months more seems like an overkill just to get all options available.
> Seems the least you could do is hack the files
Well, I already tried :)
I did locate where this information is saved in the game.dat file but
the file seems to have a crc check in it. So I just gave up (I used to
analyse computer viruses for a living so I know assembly and bypassing
this would be doable - but not easy).

I have most (?) of the stuff unlocked. It took c.40 hours of
gameplay, as far as I could tell.
I'd be happy to post (smallish) files if someone can tell me which
ones they need. Post the names of the .dat/.cfg files for me (or is
it just the game.dat, wgame.cfg files you need?)
And I finally got to the Dawn of Time... Nice to start with 10 balls
and 9 replays. No other bloody way I'd've done it!!! I've posted a
few times about the difficulty level of the game, and was delighted to
see the lock/unlock feature - just when I'd become properly pissed off
by the lack of progress, options began to unlock and the game had a
whole new lease of life. Maybe I should just have improved my pinball
skills:) Ah well... dream on, Paul.
Btw, if no-one's played the game from 11.50 - 12.10, you really should
try it. The "Midnight Madness" game is amazing. 10 ball multiball,
no slowdown. Wey-hey! Shame you can only get it by playing late or
messing with the clock. Worth it, though (and better still if, like
me, you forgot about it till a Super Scanner lit at about 12.20am:))
Mail me if I can assist. And check out the FAQ if you ain't seen it
yet - linked at the Tower of Pin, and well worth a look, imho.
Ob rant: T! is still a million miles ahead of the competition. Can't
wait for the next PP table.
Paul.
So how long have you been playing it?

I believe game.dat alone is enough.

Depends on the machine I guess. It does slow down on my Dell XPi 166
laptop - but is very impressive any way. It doesn't award big points
though.

Er, not sure what you mean.
1) Since it came out in the UK, months ago;
2) 2 days 11 hours 55 mins on the go, of which
3) 2 days 40 minutes gametime (I must've made a lot of coffee, or
left it on paused at a vital point a few times)
That answer your question?
I was guessing that stuff unlocked at about 40 hours.

Attached. It's small, otherwise I'd not post it here at all. If I
offend, I'm sorry, but hopefully this once I'll be forgiven,

Good for a laptop. I have a P200MMX desktop, and it flies during MM.

See the seperate posting of the game.dat file and my reply to your
full post.
Paul.
I don't think that counts. I do know that just starting the game and
leaving the ball to the plunger lane does not increase game time.
As I said before, I've played it for months and have over five days of
go-time - but only 16 hours of actual game time. Probably a bug.

Thanks. It worked like a charm - I can access all settings now.

I think that games you do not finish do not increase game time, too.
