Resident Evil IS being released Sept 10th. That would be a KILLER
theme, no pun intended.
And it qualifies under Gary's "has to be a sequel" rule.
It would be a shame if this happened and it's actually based on the
movies and not the games. :-(
Gary tried putting the disc in his NES, but all it did was blink when he
pushed the button! :)

Not reaching very far there... ;-)

Very, very funny.
I don't think it matters what the theme is, if the rule set and the
game play isn't good then neither is the machine. I'd buy a PeeWee
Herman if it was a great machine.
Good points
Rumor I hear....Next machine is TRON!
Next machine is out in August, thus the original post !
As long as it has Twisted Sister's "Burn In Hell" song licensed ;-)
You may be joking, but that's one of my dream pins. Pee-Wee's
Playhouse would be UNREAL. He's having a huge resurgence right
now...I saw his live show earlier in the year...it was amazing - and
now it's headed for Broadway! Pee-Wee's Pinball Playhouse!!! (Ahhh,
I can dream...)
Greg
Snore. The Resident Evil movies are terrible schlock....terrible idea
for a pinball. Plus - I'd imagine Stern would want to keep w/ themes
that have a wide demographic.
Greg
So did Monty Python, as well as Broadway. Stern was sleeping at the
wheel :-/

Tron, resident evil pee-wees playhouse ghostbusters 3 stooges, any one
of these would be better then halo, rockband, why does stern keep
trying to make games for 15 year kids. Most of them have never played
pinball, in fact I had one of my friends kids come over he was about
17 and asked me where does the quarter go in the machine at. Stern,
try on making games for people in there 30's who grew up playing
pinball and actually have money to buy them.

I'm in my 30's and Halo would make a kick ass pinball. However, it
would not be a huge seller, as it's not based off of a household named
theme, such as a big movie.
Pee Wee Pinball would be f%$#ing awesome.
Did they say September 10th, or are you guessing? Besides Resident Evil, I

Stern making games for 15 year old kids? Have they ever made a game
targeted specifically at that audience? All of their games seem to be
of a) universal or b) family appeal. Their games targeted at older
audiences (CSI, 24, Wheel of Fortune, World Poker Tour) all flopped
sales wise. They've never tried a game specifically targeted at that
audience other than maybe South Park (and it was a big success sales
wise).
you and me both...absolutely loved the show, and PW's big adventure is
one of my all time favorite movies. Reubens has a very special ability
to reach audiences young and old and is just flat out entertaining to
watch. When I was a kid, my mom taped his first HBO pilot, which was
more of an adult PW playhouse, I have kept a VCR in my house for that
tape and MTV's The State (have every original from when I was
younger)....I would by a PW pinball sight unseen, if it were coming
from Stern. There are just sooo many possibilities.
I would love to see him on Broadway, I heard the show is fantastic(as
I would expect it to be)...
Wall street 2 also comes out around the same time...
All ten of you guys can play with your pee wees as much as you want,
just sayin.
There is a new pin in production August 2010. (Avatar/Resident Evil)
Now you are beginning to see what I see ;-)
As well as a new pin release for Dec/Jan '11 (Tron/Narnia) And one
can hope for Harry Potter if they got the license finally.
That's just movie release dates, could be something totally different,
like cartoon or music but I'm just throwing a bone.

The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed -- for lack of a better
word -- is good.
Greed is right.
Greed works.
Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary
spirit.
Greed, in all of its forms -- greed for life, for money, for love,
knowledge -- has marked the upward surge of mankind.
And greed -- you mark my words -- will not only save stern pinball, but that
other malfunctioning corporation called the USA.

Ooh, cartoon, Futurama. :-)
With the lack of useful movies in August/September/October I'm not convinced
it's a movie... or if it is, that Stern would actually go for Resident Evil.
But then again, it is the kind of "off" license they might go for.
- Dan
How often do 30+ year olds play games on location? I think that is
why they keep trying to make games that appeal to the whole family.
Especially because games like Wheel of Fortune didn't exactly set the
sales charts on fire.
Ultimately, location sales are extremely important to pinball still.
Halo would be a great theme for a pinball machine. As for the theme
being universally recognized, Halo 3 sold over $170 million worth of
software on the first day of release alone, and within two months of
release had sold more than 8 million copies of the game alone. Movie
execs also attributed the release of Halo 3 to a 27% drop in movie
going for that week.
It's a huge theme, and one that would work really well for pinball.
Heck, Starship Troopers could go through an easy retheme to be a Halo
pin. The only problem is would Microsoft deal with the small
potatoes, and the last HUGE release was in 2007, is it as strong now?
I can't see RE:4 personally.... it's a reboot so it won't have
connections to the first three movies. I'm still wishing for
Transformers but it won't happen :(

I'm not sure it would sell real well but would make for fresh pinball

I would love if they made a MK pin and it would be on the pre-order
list for sure, but know I am probably in the minority who want to see
that game made into a pin since most the people into pinball are from
the older crowd and did not grow up playing MK. When I mention that
is my favorite video game to pinball collectors I cannot tell you how
many of them are offended and think it is a crap game with just a lot
of blood and gore that promotes violence. I just have to laugh at
those comments, but guarantee you would hear the same type of stuff
again if they made it into a pin. Plus that is not a family friendly
theme and that is what Stern is all about. The time to have made a MK
pin was back when Williams was still around and they had the guys from
the arcade games doing voice calls like on AFM and MM. I always
thought MK would have been a good candidate for P2K, but of course
that did not stick around for too long.

We just got our Superhero pin so now it's time for a tired TV show
themed pin. In keeping with Soprano's, 24 and CSI, it needs to be a
show that it has been or is about to be cancelled. I'm thinking Law &
Order or Lost. :)
I'm guessing its something like NBA. Re-used pf design with a cheap
license.
Bob
I thought Gomez said "this fall" not necessarily Sept. If that is the
case, I see SAW VII is coming in October. That would be a bad ass pin.
The shots would set you free or get hacked. The DMD could provide wild
animations for this one as well. I still think it will be Harry
Potter.
I agree, Tron really would be next ideal pin to produce. Its family
themed, about video games, a sequel, and would be a sweet theme.
D'oh. I have seen the new trailers for this and Flynn's arcade has NO
PINS! (at least none that I could see)
I would love to see a Tron pin with the black lights like the original
arcade game.
BOYYYYYY !!!!
AC/DC???
I think Fallout 3 would make a great table. I'd rather see an original
game, but they could even retheme WOF with Fallout. Change the
contestants to Vault Boy bobbleheads, replace the wheel with a vault
door and so on. And they do have 2 sequels on the way.
That might even tempt me enough to buy NIB!
I think Harry Potter would make a great theme for a pinball, even
though it might be a bit late to get the license now instead of a few
years ago.
Retheming WOF is a good option I think (though maybe not with the HP
theme), for most negative comments about that game are about theme and
software, not the layout.
Mark my words! The biggest selling movie ever!
AVATAR
There's your next pin
Ya Playboy is a good family friendly theme
That's a shame. I grew up with the T&A on pinball art. Didn't cause me
any harm. I love that and pin up art to this day.
Of course, if you have to ask mommy if you can buy a pin, you have
other problems.
I think Playboys biggest problem was not that it wasn't family
friendly, but that it wasn't a very good game. You could have had
Hanna Montana instead of bunnies, and it still would have sucked.
The Venture Brothers would make a pretty kick ass theme.
> Resident Evil? Really? That seems really....stretching it.
I think it's time they had another scary title.
Barney
Weren't Wheel of Fortune and CSI scary enough titles?
At least around here...
