Aw, you got your feelings hurt. I made 2 original posts about the
show. Anything else was answering questions. You constantly post
this bullshot about who you know. You're a nobody, trying to ride
anybody's coattails, no matter how obscure they are.

My claim is that it makes you feel better about yourself and that you have
some insane driving need to impose this view of how great you are on others.

What's up with that anyway?

Hey Alim,

Do you know how much longer they're going to be showing these charity
games? I sure hope you did better than that lady a couple weeks ago. She
used all three of her lifelines on the first two questions and then missed

No, I sure wish they would get them over with. It's hard not being
able to talk about how I did. There was a young lady that went on 2
contestants before me. She missed the first question. She did not
look happy when she walked off the stage.

Ha! They showed one yesterday. I wouldn't call her young, but she missed
the first question. Didn't even bother using a life line and it was
obvious she didn't know the answer.

Thats totally stupid. This is your big moment, and you're going to
risk blowing it because you don't want to use a lifeline and you don't
know the answer? I wouldn't have believed it if I had not seen it
myself in person.

Thats totally stupid. This is your big moment, and you're going to
risk blowing it because you don't want to use a lifeline and you don't
know the answer? I wouldn't have believed it if I had not seen it
myself in person.

Alim, do you know the day that your appearance will be shown? Jeopardy and
Wheel both tell contestants the exact date of the showing of their
appearance.

Absolutely. It's the correct strategy. What's the first question worth,
like $100? So if she guesses, her EV is $25. Her lifeline is therefore
worth no more than $75. If you assume there will be a question in the
future that you will not know the answer to, then the lifeline to that
question will be worth thousands. Work out the conditional probabilities
and you'll see that not using a lifeline is a correct move. (I'm not
saying she used this logic - she's probably just an idiot - but she did
happen to use the correct strategy).

They gave me a tentative date when I taped. When that day came and
went, I called them and they told me it would be after the first of
the year. Thats all they could say. it's frustrating.

That strategy is no ;longer applicable this year. They mix up the
first 10 questions. They used to be in order from easy to hard, no
more. Then they mix up the first 10 questions dollar amounts. They
range from 100 to 25,000 dollars. So you could get an easy question
that is worth a lot of money or a hard question worth very little or
somewhere in between. Since you don't know how much money the
question is worth while you are trying to answer it, you can't figure
the EV. It could be anywhere from 25 bucks to 6,250. The main point
is, if you have no idea, do you want to take a 3 to 1 shot against it
and risk not getting a shot at any money? You aint gonna get diddly
if you piss away the first question.
