Have *you* tried doing it? I get all sorts of recipes for meatloaf.

https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/16354/easy-meatloaf/

https://www.thewholesomedish.com/the-best-classic-meatloaf/

https://bakeatmidnite.com/copycat-cracker-barrel-meatloaf/

The list of meatloaf recipes goes on and on.

Personally, I don't like anything on top of the meatloaf. I prefer to
use a bit of bottled cocktail sauce mixed in with the meat (along with
cheese!) before baking.

I can't answer the original question since I don't like meatloaf
sandwiches. A meatloaf sandwich implies it is served cold on bread.

70s... don't let your meat loaf. Let it all hang out.

In English when a compound word is born it usually has a space. Over
time the space often disappears. Since Sheldon is stuck somewhere in the
early 19th century his compound words have more spaces than they do for
the rest of us.

Where Sheldon grew up in depression-era Brooklyn, "meat" was
anything that moved in the sewers. "Meat" was a prefix used to
express grandeur and luxury to a meal when everyone else potatoes,
mosses, and lichens. Meat breath, meat farts, and meat pubes were
all things to brag about the next day to make other kids jealous.

Schtinky lamb and sheep never existed in the sewers.

Feel free to educate me about that. What is the benefit/appeal? I
fried 8oz of thick bacon a few weeks ago. No need to sous vide
for 16 hours.

Also...have you seen/tried a "new" Manwich flavor? I say new
because I just saw it advertised last week. It's
Bourbon BBQ flavored Manwich. That sure does sound good to me.
I'm going to look for a can tomorrow morning at the grocery
store. I'll definitely give that a try.

Make sure it doesn't have a lotta "added" sugar. Even if it doesn't,
make sure there is not too much "sweet" to it. Notta lotta sugar in
"Bourbon" nor "BBQ", but prolly a lot in a sweet tomato-ee sauce. 8|

And then you WASTE a bunch of BBQ sauce in the brush! Or do you suck the brush after?

Where, in his post, did he say to use a brush to put that BBQ sauce on
top of the meatloaf?? You ASSumed he uses a brush when he could just
as easily poured it on and lightly spread it out with the back of a
spoon.

I don't like using a brush as they are a PIA to clean... to grease a
pan I use a small bit of paper towel that goes into the trash... not
much butter or Crisco sticks so waste is minimal.
I sometimes coat a meat loaf with tomato sauce, but then I spread it
with my fingers I used to form the loaf. And I don't waste any, I
lick my fingers, or one of the cats will. lol

We've got a mixed meatloaf sitting in the fridge for preparation tonight after
Jackie's first day of training at her new job. That pay raise will allow us to
do more than get by.
The meatloaf has precooked crumbled bacon, sautéed onions and garlic, eggs,
herbs and just enough bread crumbs to keep it together.

What time is dinner? :) That sounds good. I'm one that likes to
slather just as much ketchup over a meatloaf as it will hold on
top and sides before cooking. That carmelized ketchup takes on a
good/different taste (imo) that goes well with the meat.

For any leftovers of meatloaf, no sandwiches for me. All
leftovers get heated up and served hot just like the original
meal. I never freeze meatloaf...never any left for that. :)

Speaking of ketchup on top, I'll bet a mix of ketchup with
worchestershire sauce on top would be even better. I'll try that
next time.
