REPORT: Trump Receiving MASSIVE Federal Gov. Handout To Renovate His Luxurious
Hotel

Donald Trump is not a billionaire who pays his own way, despite what Trump the
candidate tells people; Trump is a welfare queen, taking advantage of wasteful
government spending.

The document was revealed in, of all places, the conservative Daily Caller. In
a 145-page report, on wasteful government spending, two pages show that the
government is giving Donald Trump a $40 million tax credit to renovate an old
Washington, D.C. building into a tacky Trump hotel.

The section about the Trump Organization’s Old Post Office renovation is
included in Oklahoma Sen. James Lankford’s “Federal Fumbles: 100 ways the
government dropped the ball” report, unveiled Monday during a Capitol press
conference.

“While the lucky guests of this palatial hotel will be awestruck by its glitz
and glamour, taxpayers are unlikely to be amused that they helped foot the
bill through a $40 million tax credit thanks to the National Historic Tax
Credit,” Lankford writes in the report.

“The taxpayer-supported hotel will feature ‘272 richly furnished
guest-rooms…with lofty 16-foot ceilings, soaring windows, beautifully restored
historic millwork, and glittering crystal sconces and chandeliers.’ One of the
two presidential suites will be 5,000 square feet—twice the average size of an
American family home. Each of the suites will include ‘original fireplaces,
wood doors and moldings, and offer unique amenities such as separate dining
room with pantry and service entry, his-and-her walk-in closets, private sauna
and steam room, two-person shower, and VIP direct-elevator access.’ Hotel
guests will also be able to enjoy a 5,000- square-foot super luxury spa and
state-of-the- art fitness center.’”

Can you count the levels of wrong here? A billionaire is being handed money to
renovate a property that only millionaires and billionaires can enjoy. While
Republicans are willing to take food right from children’s mouths, they are
more than happy to hand millions to billionaires.

If history is any indication, this project will reveal even more Trump
hypocrisy. While he, like any good fascist, riles people up by painting large
groups of human beings as criminals and “rapists,” he also relies on many of
the undocumented workers to build his buildings. He has also broken numerous
labor laws in the process.

The 200 demolition workers—nicknamed the Polish Brigade because of their home
country—worked 12-hour shifts, seven days a week with no overtime to knock
down the old Bonwit Teller building and make room for Trump Tower on Fifth
Avenue in Manhattan.

According to testimony in a protracted civil suit in federal court, the
laborers were paid $5 an hour or less when they were paid at all. Some went
unpaid after the contractor had financial troubles. A few never received even
the paltry sum that was owed them for their dirty and hazardous efforts
preceding the construction of Trump’s monument to his own wealth.

“They were undocumented and worked ‘off the books,’” Manhattan federal Judge
Charles Stewart said of the workers after they became the subject of a 1983
lawsuit. “No records were kept, no Social Security or other taxes were
withheld.”
