Okay. It's not what it seems, at all -- unfortunately for me. SIGHHHHHH I
think he's **utterly** klunkworthy.

I "had breakfast" with Patrick Stewart some years back. I was eating breakfast
in this cafe in Mammoth Lakes (an area of California's mountains often visited
by people from southern California). This was when the first season of ST:TNG
was being filmed. Being very Trekkie, I'd read about it -- I knew who'd been
cast as captain of the Enterprise. I'd seen Mr. Stewart in various movies, and
I Claudius, as well. I was very aware of who he was. He was eating at the
table right next to mine! (With his family, ugh! Stupidly, he was married!
Woe was me!)

I couldn't stop staring. I was really excited. Apparently, he noticed I was
staring and (no, it doesn't get good here) he started trying to shield my eyes
from his face with his hand! I felt like a stalker. Sigh. Of course, after
the Star Trek stardom, I adore him even more. P.S.: He's *real*cute* in
person. (He's no longer married to Her.)

The closest I ever came to the stars in Cali was waiting for Steven Spielberg
and Keanu Reeves to cross the street in front of my car in Napa(just before
Reeves had his motorcycle accident)....and sifting through clothing on the same
rack as Susan Sarandon--at WalMart!

When I lived in NYC, I met or saw a bunch of stars here and there and
everywhere. But here's the most fun category--- People who tried to pick me
up: Paul Simon, Tony Perkins, Lauren Hutton. Guy who succeeded (in Big Sur,
1978): Ben Masters (Julian on Passions...he was so sexy and gorgeous then!).

It rocked--my Mom had to restrain me, as I had a thing for Keanu back then, and
was trying to go jump his bones right there in the street. After he got laid
up for 6 months with both legs broken, I told my Mom, "You should have let me
get a piece of that! Who knows how long it'll be before he can get his freak

She does a hilarious series of ads for Tesco's stores, it's eerie as she
looks, sounds and *sigh* acts much like my MIL.

I can't imagine someone that tiny working locks, although she must just use
the force of her personality when the gears don't work. :-)

Yes, but they're seen on occasion in films that reach the US.

David Suchet plays a superb Poirot, much better than the Ustinov versions,
slightly smarmy but great moustache.
Timothy West and Prunella Scales (isn't that a GREAT name?) are married and
are often on the TV here. Prunella was the wonderful and frightful wife
Sibyl in 'Fawlty Towers' with John Cleese. She was also in 'Mapp and Lucia'
which should be on everyone's reading/watching list.

If you like Patrick Stewart, you'll love Suchet, although it's his brother
who is a newsreader that I think is gorgeous.

LOL. It took me ages to figure out that it was 'Sibyl' grown old in the
adverts. It's nice to see that Gordon John Sinclair from 'Gregory's Girl'
is working regularly as her SIL.

I'm about um...erm... looking out window... it depends on which boundaries
you use, I'm either IN Yorkshire or just on the edge of it and Lancashire.
Not that it does me any good, as I'm sure Mr. Stewart is living in London or
somewhere 'sarf.

Well....
After he moved to the US, I THINK (could be wrong) but the wife and kids
stayed in the UK. He then had an affair with one of his lady guest
stars in Next Gen and divorced wifey no.1 the affair didnt last though.
He started seeing Wendy Neuss who was a producer on the show and they
eventually married (about 5 years ago maybe) though they had been
together longer. Anyway he has recently separated from her and moved
home to the UK.

I've seen him at conventions several times (not that close and there
were several thousand others there) but he is gorgeous and so nice to
his fans (which some exCaptains I could mention are not).

I did see him fairly up close after my friends and I (oh and about a 100
others) went backstage after seeing him in his one man show of Christmas
Carol a few years ago.

Also we went to a convention a long time ago in a very posh london
hotel. We had to go up this escalator and I was admiring the hotel (it
was v. elegant) and when we got to the top my 2 friends were practically
panting with excitement cos aparently they had turned round on the
escalator to say something to me, and Patrick and Brent Spiner were
stood behind me about 4 steps away. At the top of the escalator they
had gotten whisked away by the organisers - damn!

Well, since he's been married and divorced since then....I guess so. Haw!

(I'm a total ST: TNG freak, and have much of the series on videotape without
commericals. I watched the entire show, start to finish, and cried when it
ended, so yep, I know it was long ago.)

heheh..I work as a test administrator for the computer department at a
local university. One afternoon a few weeks ago, this man came in to
take his test..he was a dead ringer for patrick stewart, right down to
the bald head. He was probably about the same age, too. I almost
blurted out "whoa! captain picard!" when he walked in.

as for actual star trek stars, I met walter koenig at a comic
convention last year. my ex boyfriend and I got our picture taken with
him. after the boyfriend and I broke up, I cropped the pic so that
only I appear in it with mr. koenig.

Me too but I forget just how long ago it was sometimes.
I remember when they screened the last ep in the states, a friend of a
friend had the vid fedexed over from the states and she showed it a
couple days later in a meeting room after work (cos it had PAL video)
and we got signed in as visitors so we could see it too.

I dont have much of the series on tape now, but I;ve kept my fave eps
and my friend has them all so I borrow hers.

There's a couple of guys who go to ST cons round here who look an awful
lot like Picard and Riker (but shorter). There was also another guy
who the organisers of a con got to come along one year cos he was the
spitting image of Patrick Stewart. My friend nearly p'd herself she was
so convinced it was him.

We met Walter Koenig last year, he was really interesting and quite
sweet.

LOL great idea to get your ex cut out of the photo<G>

that's like my mom and I. I remember one day, my parents had gone to
florida to visit some relatives there, so I was home alone. I invited
my boyfriend over, and my mom called to check in on me while he was
over there. She asked what we were up to, and I replied "oh, about to
start the wild orgy. don't worry, we'll put tarps down on the bed and
floor first. by the way, where did you put the crisco?"

I thought my boyfriend was going to drop dead from shock. My mom told
me to make sure I cleaned up afterwards, and the crisco was in the
pantry on the top shelf. Nothing fazes her.

Yes! I think we have the same Mom--maybe the original has a clone?

I once told my mom I had to go home and make wild, freaky animalistic love to
my husband. All she said was make sure the baby was alseep first.
