As most know, the old green 10 digit PCI slabs are highly sought, due
to their grading accuracy. While PCI is not an accepted TPG, due to
later problems, those original slabs are coveted. Well. someone is
exploiting that fact, and are counterfeiting the 10 digit slabs....
The 1st scan is from a REAL 10 digit slab, the 2nd is fake; note that
the boarder on the fake is not a continuous line of PCIPCIPCI and the
logo is smudged. You won't be able to see this detail on the fake
pieces, but the coins won't looks quite right; good luck out there.

I don't know about the other coins but the 1911D Half Eagle is no AU58 by any
stretch of the imagination.
Granted that the incuse half and quarter eagles present difficulties in grading
but the scratches on the surface of this example drop it down to VF+ or XF-.
Can't speak for the legitimacy of the slab though on a tough date like the 11D,
I'd want PCGS or NGC before sinking my money into it.
Good catch. I pulled up the "About Us" tab and back-tracked the 888
phone number. NY Coin Mart isn't a coin dealer in NY at all. It's a
direct marking company out of Minneapolis, MN. Definitely a seller to
avoid.

The jaw on the 1883-S looks odd. Perhaps it is a scratch or
distortion caused by the holder?
The thread about these on the Collectors Universe message board has
been deleted.

Why is PCGS trying to cover up this?
PCA COLLECTABLES 516.833.5695 for all of you PCI needs , I have been
buying from Anthony Dellauniversipa and everything have been great . I
bought some ms67 morgan dollars for 1/2 the price they normaly sell
for . I also understand that his partner Kevin McNerney who also owns
PCI Grading and NYCOINMART is selling these coins he graded on his web
site (http://sales.uaamerica.calls.net/) . This guy is legit and has
been grading coins for years , he usto own NTC and also NAS grading .
Stop bothering this guy and drop the issue . And if you have any
qustions just call them up and ask them . So all in all the slabs
arent fake and I love all the coins they sold me . I mean come on ,
you dont like ms67 morgan dollars at half price?
You're not making a very good case for yourself mentioning NTC. They
were notorious for severely overgrading. Any knowledgeable collector
would avoid them. In the past PCI was considered a third tier grading
company (PCGS and NGC being first, ANACS and ICG being second, and you
don't want to know who sat in the fifth tier all alone).

You are judging that the issue is overgrading. It sounds more like
outright fraud.
With intent to deceive, IMHO.

Vince is Kevins partner they have been running diffrent coin rooms
and using diffrent company names for years . Kevin reacently sold
Sunrise Numismatics inc to his life time buddy Michael Destefano and
Anthony Dellauniversipa , witch i dont understand , because Anthony
owns PCA Collectables , so why would you want two companies doing the
same thing ?? Now another friend of Kevin , Dennis Daidone (grader)He
is a member of the ANA and a graduate from the ANA grading school in
Jacksonville Florida. Dennis has worked as an advisor for other major
grading services and has and eye for perfection."
so I know Dennis did the grading for Kevin when they owned NAS
Grading , but I dont know if he is inloved with PCI , but from what i
understand he has been with him since NTC days . I think these guys
are great! They are doing nothing wrong , I mean is not this how NGC
and PCGS got started ? Everyone out there who knows coins , knows
these guys are and they are connected with everyone , they are ok in
book. A+ guys
There is no Santa Claus in numismatics.
Something is just not right here
This is supposed to be their building

But use Google Maps with
94 Gardiners Ave Levittown, NY 11756 and STREET VIEW shows a shabby
shopping center.
Isn't that supposed to be a warning sign?

The ANA grading school I went to is in Colorado Springs. I am not
aware of one in Jacksonville. I called the ANA and they have no
record of
a Dennis Daidone.
I wouldn't worry about it, Gary. Phone numbers in ebay auctions don't
match, e-mail addresses don't work, and now you found a building of
theirs that isn't where it's supposed to be.

Moving on.
