With all the murders in Chicago this year it probably has taken its toll. They cannot figure out what is right from wrong and when they do it is too late. Get out of Illinois while you can and this poor lady never gets a chance.

The juxtaposition of the value assigned to one taxpayer's
life or another is dramatic.

A big rig which blew a red light, killing a pickup truck
driver, settled for $42,000,000.00. That case has utterly
disrupted the trucking industry with a cascade of insurance
and reinsurance rate changes and policy cancellations.

There have a been bunch of expensive trucking lawsuits, largely where
the trucking company has been found to have negligent. (There was a
texas case where the drive shaft of a truck came off and killed
soeone. The jury awarded a quarter billion, which was reduced to $100
million, and settled for something undisclosed.)

The Court judged the defendant guilty on basis of available acceptable and permanently damaging evidence. The judgement has the effect of the defendant violating a statutory law.

Thus, the damaged party, Joni's family moves forward into Civil Court for damages against the defendant who lives in Elk Grove.

BTW, Joni was a cousin.
