Greetings to the rec.autos.makers.chrysler and
the rec.autos.marketplace community! d8^D
The following posts are provided by the MML for
the enjoyment and assistance to hobbyists of
Chrysler products. These posts are from various
members, and constitute the equivalent of
several separate postings. The MML is not
connected financially nor by any security to
the Chrysler Corporation, except for and shall
be limited to the enjoyment and ownership of
products produced by them. Enjoy the posts, :^)
contact the person(s) if you're interested,
etc... and enjoy the thrill of the moment,
otherwise, please by-pass these postings.
There is no intention to solicit for, nor
in conjunction with, any business or financially
gainful organization. =8^0

Flames and slams can be forwarded to alt.dev.null 8^)
or emailed to fal...@bottomless.pit.

Use of this information depends upon your own interest
in these various posts.

Hello all MoPar folks! Here is another of my attempts to collect
and list the requests/searches that occour here in our group
and in other MoPar corners of the `net.

To delete/update/submit entries, please email to:

scha...@mopac.amd.com

And put in the Subject: CLASSIFIEDS

Any responses as to content, improvements, or the like would
be appreciated and are hoped for. =X^{
There are were 3 seperate categories with which to file:
FORSALE -- FORSALE OR TRADE -- WANTED

It would make my life easier if you made your submisions using the
following form:
- - - - - - - - - c u t - h e r e - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
FORSALE: (short name of car/parts)
or
FORSALE OR TRADE: (short name of car/parts)
or

PRICE: (lack of this information often deters prospects)

VEHICLE/PART LOCATION: (Country,Province or equiv.,City or Village)

CONTACT: (email address, voice #, fax #, etc... Don't forget your real
name if they gotta' call you by voice/fax)
DESCRIPTION: (long description of parts, ie: Body style, or other
appropriate discussion, include price.)

A new offer, is to sign on to my alias, and you can
receive this directly into your mailbox. Just send
email to

and put in the subject: SIGNON MML CLASSIFIEDS
[to remove yourself: SIGNOFF MML CLASSIFIEDS]

This posting today is 7/14/95.
The next will be on 7/25/95. (I was away on vacation
for most of June)

I provide freshness dating on the postings, the date
added, or rechecked for continued interest from the
origional owners of the information. I will request
from the owners for a response for interest about
once every two months. If they have not returned
any answer at all, then on the next complete cycle
after the request I will delete those posts. That
way everything will have a maximum "staleness" of
2 months in weeks. Of course, I reserve the right to
lag behind in these details when work loads limit
my time...

*And I am behind in my freshness checking as I
have been busy of late*

With new post entries, I will also request how
long the person requests (ie: two weeks/one month
/six months/or whatever). Then I will request
freshness on that basis rather than just an arbitrary
two months. (Some of these searches for parts take
a long time).
So, let's get out there and find parts!!!
Enjoy!! dB^)

The following basic information on auto and
parts buying was gleaned from the wise and
experienced Queenie of MML fame.
*****************Caveat Emptor!*******************
(Buyer Beware!)

* Be sure of the reputation of the seller.
Places in particular to watch for would be
flea markets, especially if they won't
give you a receipt.

* Have the engine number (the *stamped*
number, not the casting number!) and the VIN
when you order parts, along with whatever else
you need to identify the car and parts you need.

* One of the most useful things to have while
walking around the Flea Markets is pictures of
your own car, to identify parts and so forth
accurately. Side, front, rear, and 3/4 views would
be the ideal. (Not to mention, it's kinda nice to
have a "brag book" of your car!)

* Know who you are talking to; ask the return
policy, and GET A RECEIPT!

* If you do have problems, you have some
recourse. The magazines these people advertise
in will pull their ads if they get more than
three unresolved complaints within a calendar
year. (Hemmings does, at least.)

* You can also call the Better Business Bureau.
(Yes, they do make you sit up and pay attention!)

***********************************************************

Enjoy the parts chase!

FORSALE: distributor (from Chrys/Mitsu V6)
'83 Plymouth Reliant
Chevy van

PRICE: $125/$600/$11000makeoffer

VEHICLE/PART LOCATION: Chicago/NW Suburb, IL

CONTACT: Howard Moy
on...@wwa.com
708 632-3925

DESCRIPTION:

DISTRIBUTOR:
I have a oil soaked distributor from my '91 Dodge Spirit's
Mitshubishi 3.0 V6 engine that I would like to sell.

The distributor housing seal unfortunately leaked and
ruined the distributor. The housing seal was warranty covered
with a $100 deductable but the distributor itself wasn't.
It was $460 for a replacement part from the dealer.
Every place I called didn't/couldn't get one (but offered to rebuild
it) so I ended up paying $460 for one at the dealer then more $$ on
labor! You don't want to know how much it all came out to be. :(

So I have my broken one to sell if anyone wants to rebuild it.
Oil just leaked into it and ruined it. You should still be
able to rebuild it no problem. It ususally costs ~$150 to
rebuild a distributor.

Selling for $125 + shipping (or make offer)

CAR:
My dad has a '83 Plymouth Reliant. Blue 4door, Auto, AC,
new tires, just turned over 100k. Asking $600 or make offer.
Good body except for one dent on the passenger front
and maybe little rust (if any, can't remember off hand).
Let me know if you have any other questions at 708 632-3925.

CONVERSION VAN:
My sister has a '89 Chevy Conversion Van for sale. Deluxe
model with Color TV & VCR. GM recently replaced the engine
with a BRAND NEW engine with warranty. ~1yr left
on warranty. Gray exterior with reclining seats, fold
down bed, and wood grain finish. Only 56K.
$11,000 or best offer. Call 708 540-6469.

fundraising purposes. We are trying to start up a new
MOPAR club in the North CA area, and all porfit
will be used to get the club's first car show financed.

-Engine, transaxle, and alum wheels have been claimed/sold.

The car was in a partial front head on collision. Previous
owners had poorly repainted the entire car black, therefore,
ground effects, etc are also painted black.
The car was hit hard enough to bend the passenger strut
tower (EGR solenoids are there, but damaged).
What we took off and examined:
-Front fasicia: twisted and cracked. Maybe repairable?
-Front air dam/ground effects: side parts are gone, air
dam has multiple scrapes, one minor crack.
-Side ground effects: physically good, but again, painted
over silver with black paint.
-Rear spoiler/taillight: good physical condition, but
needs to be repainted properly.
-Taillights: gone.
-Rear bumper cover: good physical condition-needs paint.

Interior:
-Believe it, or not, this car came from factory without
"full console" andarmrest. What is there looks very good.
-Dash: dash pad has a "three point star" like crack in
the middle, above the radio area, about the size of a
dime coin in diameter; otherwise looks very good-color
is not faded. "Charger" plaque missing. Instrument cluster
looks very good. Gauge faces are in excellent condition.
Odometer (reads 00900) numerals are faded slightly.
"Cubby" console (below radio area) missing map light,
otherwise very good condition (slight crack on one
mounting screw area).
-Other interior: various trim pieces in very good condition.
Door panels are very dirty, but I think will "clean up
well". Armrests have the common peeling chrome off the
plastic parts, but otherwise OK.
-Misc: Wiper motor is avail and works. Engine computer is
some off brand "ASC certified", remanufacturered? Various
harness look good. No evidence of an engine bay fire seen.

DESCRIPTION: This car has less than 4,000 miles on it
and is absolutely perfect. The car has been stored in
a climate controlled garage at both the first owners
home and mine. I have all papers including the window
sticker, copy of MSO, dealer invoice, a copy of a letter
from Carroll Shelby to the original owner, etc. It is
#281/500 and is one of 243 with the Recaro seat option.
The only other option offered is 225/50/15 tires vs
195/60/15. Shelby only built 15 with the Recaro seats
and the wide tires.

I bought this car for $12,800 on 1/30/95 with 2,143 miles
on it. My son was driving one of my other 89 CSX's that
day and got rear ended. The car was totaled. The totaled
car has both the Recaro's and the wide tires. The
insurance company gave me $14,694.25 for this car that has
10,125 miles on it and I bought it back for $2,000. I am
going to rebuild the wreck, so I do not need this car. I
have one other 89 CSX with 2,100 miles on it, two 86
GLHS's, and the wreck. My wife says one, at least, has
to go. This car is by far the cleanest of all the cars I
own.

This car is based on a red 1989 Dodge Shadow hatchback
with a Turbo II engine with a VNT turbocharger and
Gertrag transmission. 0 - 60 < 7 seconds. It has a
special spoiler and wing package as well as a special
Shelby interior including a leather-wrapped Shelby
steering wheel. The gold wheels are made of fiber.
This is the only production car ever made with fiber
wheels. The car has a special handling package and
handles like it is on rails. Ride is firm, but not
harsh due to the variable nature of the springs and
shocks. Car also has Shelby 4W power disk brakes.
Car has PS, AC, AM/FM Stereo Radio, driver info center.

Car is completely as it came from Shelby Automobiles
and is clean as a pin. Own a piece of history and drive
it daily for less than the cost of a Neon or Corolla.
Car sold new for $17,014 and is priced at about $2,000
under insurance appraisal.

PRICE: $1000 for both/negotiate for each

VEHICLE/PART LOCATION: Santa Clara, CA

CONTACT: Bill Burdette tbx...@tevm2.nsc.com, or BBurd...@aol.com

DESCRIPTION:
I am posting this for my neighbor, who has a passion for AMC products. He
must part with some of his "collection" due to parking/space limitations. He
would like to sell the cars to someone who appreciates them as much as he
does if possible.

Both cars have approx 110K miles.

Car#1: 199 cid In Line 6 cyl, 3 speed column shift. This car was driven daily
for the last two years, and was very "road worthy" until clutch failure. The
body is in poor condition (some bondo), but no apparent rust perforation. Car
is "whole" with trim, etc. Interior is in fair condition.

Car#2: 199 cid In Line 6 cyl, Torque Flite Auto Trans. Body is straight and
in good condition, orig blue paint faded. No rust apparent. Interior "cleaned
up well", but some wear on the seats visible. This car needs brakes, but I
believe everything else is of "road worthy" service. He had bought this car
with a resto in mind between both cars.

FOR SALE: '66 Fury III 2-door parts car

CONTACT: Dan Harling <har...@pictel.com>

VEHICLE/PART LOCATION: USA, Eastern Massachusetts

DESCRIPTION: I would like to sell my Fury, without engine--which I
rebuilt a couple years ago and want to transfer to an-
other car body--as a parts car. This car was registered
and driven daily until March, when I put another car on
the road in its place. I currently have no plans to
put it back on the road.

o two-tone blue vinyl split bench seat; blue carpet,
headliner and dashboard; the usual minor nicks & rips
o all chrome handles & buckles in excellent condition
o speedometer, gauges and controls all work (except A/C,
which was removed)
o good front & rear suspension, air shocks in back
o despite new brake lines, shoes and hardware, the brakes
require a lot of pedal effort
o left front fender hit: repaired with carpenter's hammer
and spray painted
o trunk floor is rusted, but fuel tank is solid
o chrome faded on bumpers; side trim removed & holes
filled; tailights excellent
o hood, trunk lids and upper sheet metal good; rust
forming only on lower fenders and wheel openings
o 15" wheels and tires from a '71 Newport; rears are
retread snow tires and will need to be replaced
o good rear and side glass; front has one repaired
bullseye and two small but visible cracks on the
driver's side
o front windows open; rear windows do not
o custom dual exhaust (aluminized pipes) and radiator are
new, and will be sold separately

I could probably get another year of minimal transport-
ation from this car, but I don't need it any more, and
now it's just taking up space. Once I find a new body
for its engine I will have to remove as much of value
as I can from the Fury myself and junk the rest. I
would rather just pull the engine now and get the rest
into the hands of somebody who can make use of the good
parts.

I'm asking $500. for the body and $150. for the exhaust,
or $600. for both (how 'bout that?!). The car is loc-
ated in Eastern Massachusetts, but I might be able to
tow it a moderate distance if necessary, for reasonable
fuel & time expenses. Let me know if you're interested!

I'm in the process of "restifying" a 1967 Coronet R/T which had been
badly hacked upon and "improved" by a non-worthy individual. I have
nearly all of the sheet metal but much of the trim and many major
components were "removed" or "changed" in the previous owner's
"improvement" process. So many small items are required to correct
the car that the only practical approach is to obtain a complete and
un-modified parts car. I'm not in the business of restoring many
cars for a profit, I just want to make this car in to a very nice
street car. Obviously, a '67 R/T parts car would be optimum but I
suspect difficult to find in any sort of salvageable condition.

WANTED: '66 Fury III manual-brake hardware

CONTACT: Dan Harling <har...@pictel.com>

DESCRIPTION: My Fury's brakes are FUBAR: the rears (11" x 2-1/2")
have 2" backing-plates, which won't work with the
2-1/2" shoes that I want to put on, and the fronts (11"
x 3") make knocking sounds whenever the brake pedal is
released while the car is moving forward. Also, the
car was converted to use a dual brake cylinder, and I
think the proportioning valves are screwed up because
the rear brakes seem barely able to keep the rear tires
from turning at idle!

So here is what I need: all four brake drums of the
sizes given; two 11" x 2-1/2" rear backing plates;
proportioning valves from a dual-cylinder manual brake
B- or C-body. If you know of such a car being parted
out please let me know.

WANTED: Reproduction Challenger wheel well chrome and fenders

- Anyone know if they have ever been

looking for good ole steel. I can't be
the only one whose Challenger
fenders are showing the effects of 20+ years
of abuse (weather and otherwise).
