My 1997 Civic's heater blower motor stopped working all of a sudden today.
Checked all the fduses under the dash and the main fuse under the hood and the
relay and they all seemed fine. This was at lunch time. Then after work wehn I
started the car to drive home, the blower motor was woking again! Tonight I
went out and turned it on just to see if it was still working. It was, but when
I moved the lever for the cold/hot temperature control all the way to the right
(hottest setting) the blower motor sopped working again and it did not come back
on even after wiggling the temperature control lever again back and forth. The
receirculationg air motor seems to be not really engaging now also. But I can
hear the other vent selection mode switches working when I press them. I have a
Honda service manual but it does not tell much clearly about any relationship
with the temperature control linkage to the blower motor circuitry. I hope the
freaken heater control panel with the IC chip and diodes in it is not shot. I'd
hate to have to bring it into Honda for service and have them tear into it with
my custom stereo and alarm system installed and all. They will butcher it all
to hell.

Bottom line is, has anyone with this model year 1996 to 1999 Civic had a similar
problem with their blower motor ceasing to function? If so what was the problem
(if you had it fixed already). Any info appreciated. I'm hoping it is just a
loose wire came loose and not a crummy control panel or module that I have to
take into the dealer to get replaced.
