Rebirth (movie) (3:01 am, Netflix)

How do people get sucked into those weird cult things? Netflix’s new
original feature Rebirth posits a particularly unsettling scenario for
indoctrination: Fran Kranz (The Cabin In The Woods) stars as a
buttoned-down suburban dad who finds himself pulled back into the orbit
of an old college friend, played by Adam Goldberg (Saving Private Ryan),
who convinces him to try out a life-changing self-actualization program
that he himself recently completed. “Life-changing” turns out to be the
key phrase, as a fun weekend seminar steadily devolves into chaos,
confusion, terror, and plenty of pulsing EDM.

This psychological thriller comes from writer/director Karl Mueller (Mr.
Jones, The Devil’s Hand) and boasts a supporting cast which includes
Harry Hamlin (Mad Men), Sheryl Lee (Twin Peaks), and Steve Agee (The
Sarah Silverman Show).

I'm not too worried about being indoctrinated. If anything worries me,
it is the 'pulsing EDM'.

Well, there is that.

The entire series actually appeared yesterday.

I was having trouble falling asleep, and this put me out like a light.
I don't think I ever even saw Matthew Modine. The kids are incredibly
unappealing and untalented.
So nothing then?
Thanks

Is this a show for adults or a show for 10-15 year olds?

They're all dancers because all the math and physics spots were taken.

He is there. He is just hard to recognise because he is wearing Ed
Bagely Jr.'s hair.

> The kids are incredibly unappealing and untalented.

Winona Ryder's character is extremely annoying. As for the kids...they
get most of the screen time in episode #1 and the best actor of the
bunch was the two year old girl in the high chair. That kid will be a
star someday.

Yes! And almost unrecognizable as her. Very disappointing.

The older sister might have been okay, but all I saw was her slam the
door in the fat kid's face.

There are no "secrets" ... the lazy, talentless hack Abrams simply
copied George Lucas' original Trilogy and then crapped all over it with
his own idiotic ideas and Politically Correct appeasements, just like
all the other idiotic "reboots" do. :-(

This writer seems to think that STRANGER THINGS is some sort of complex
sci-fi story rather than being fairly tired horror story TV tropes:

Don't get too excited. She looks anorexic and as this is definitely
aimed at kids you won't be seeing nude stuff.

Speaking of which, the young girl is about to strip naked in front of
three boys and they all recoil in horror? I'm not sure I was ever that
young.
