Agreed.

I watched:
Westworld - "Dissonance Theory" - I'm not even going to try and recap
what happens in this series. But after reading a *very* interesting
theory about the show in another thread, I watched with a different
mindset and so far that theory is holding up. From this point on I will
accept that theory is fact.
The Walking Dead - "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be" - Season 7
kicks off with the aftermath of Negan killing one of the group. They
beat around the bush for a while before they finally reveal who is
killed. Intense episode.
Once Upon a Time - "Street Rats" - They completely retcon the Aladdin
and Jafar story for no good reason. :-/
Black Mirror (Netflix streaming) "Men Against Fire" - A new soldier
(Malachi Kirby) goes on his first mission to hunt "roaches" off world.
But has a change of heart when he starts to see things differently.
Another "Twilight Zone" style story. It was more or less OK although a
bit predictable at times.
"Hated in the Nation" - The feature length season finale revolves around
a police investigation into the murder of a woman who was hated on
social media. Her throat was slit but they can't find any evidence of
an intruder. After the death of a second person who was hated on social
media they realize the deaths are connected and just the beginning.
This was also more or less OK.
The Da Vinci Code (blu-ray) Tom Hanks stars as a, now that I think about
it, I don't know *what* he is supposed to be. Checking wiki...he's a
"symbologist." As I was saying, I don't know *what* he is supposed to
be. Anyway, he writes books and is knowledgeable about religion. After
a priest is murdered in what appears to be a ritual fashion he is
brought in for a consult but Hanks is warned by police cryptographer and
the victim's granddaughter that he's really the prime suspect. The two
go on the run to solve the mystery of why the priest was murdered and
what the Church has been covering up since the death of Christ. At
nearly 3 hours this flick dragged on but it was otherwise generally OK.
I think this falls into the category of movies I technically like but
have no real interest in ever watching more than once.
Max Steel (theatrical) - Movie based on an animated series (which I've
never seen before) about a young man who can bound with a wise cracking
alien robot called "Steel" to create a power suit. From the trailer I
was expecting him to fight alien invaders but this was mostly an origin
story and the fighting was kept to a minimum. I could also tell while
watching that the movie was heavily edited and not in a good way. I
knew this had bad reviews but I was hoping it would nevertheless be
watchable and maybe a rip off of "The Guyver." I guess in hindsight it
was sort of a rip off of "The Guyver" but it still wasn't all that good.
Not as horribly bad as the reviews make it out to be but nothing that
needs to be seen in the theater. It's worth a rental if you like these
sorts of movies.
With my DVR hitting 90% I made some tough choices and decided to delete
MadTV, The Strain and Empire. I was several episodes behind on these
series. Empire was a bit of a shock given how much I liked the first
season. But after giving it some thought I realized the second season
was a major step down and I just didn't care any more.
