I watched:

RISE OF THE SUPERBOMBS:
A look at the modern development of the U.S. and worldwide arsenals
highlights the critical technological turning points of the post-WWII
age and the most fearsome weapons in circulation. Included: newly
declassified footage; interviews with senior officers and engineers;
and a series of immersive field tests dissecting the science behind how
these mega-weapons.

WILD WILD WEST:
"The Night of the Vicious Valentine". A woman plots to become America's
queen by marrying off wealthy industrialists, widowing them, and
controlling their assets via their widows. Hey, it's Endora! I was a
bit worried when I read the description but it was much better than I
remembered.

FAMILY GUY:
"Yug Ylimaf". After breaking Stewoe's time machine while trying to use
it to help him bang chicks, Stewie and he discover time has changed
direction, leading to Stewie being "unborn". It was nice to see call
backs to some of the previous eps.

FAMILY GUY:
"Joe's Revenge". The recently-arrested man who shot Joe, putting him in
a wheelchair, escapes, prompting Peter, Quagmire, and Joe to track him
down.

Rick and Morty:
"Morty's Mindblowers". Instead of doing "Multidimensional cable TV",
Rick shows Morty some of the mind-shattering memories he has erased
over the years.

RICK AND MORTY:
"The ABC's of Beth". Beth disocveres her imaginary childhood was real.

FAMILY GUY:
"Peter's Two Dads". Peter stops drinking (but starts smoking crack)
after accidentally killing his father (voice of Charles Durning) while
drinking heavily at Meg's birthday party. But is the dead man really
his father? No, his mother (Phyllis Diller) confesses, he isn't. So
Peter heads to Ireland to find his real dad. Meanwhile, Stewie develops
masochistic tendencies.

I mostly watched World Cup Soccer, and did some more house chores and
home organizing yesterday...:

World Cup Soccer - While I despise France, I wasn't unhappy that they
beat Argentina, to advance to the Quarterfinals. OTOH, I was very, very
disappointed in the Portugal-Uruguay result. :(

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger (recorded) - "Princeton Offense" (ep. #5). I
think I may have liked this episode more than Jim did - stuff actually
seemed to happen in this episode. Though, as I said in my follow-up to
Jim's post on this episode, I really did object to the developments
with Det. O'Brien - I really hope they're not going down the road I
think they're going on this... But Tandy actually seems to be making
progress in hunting down leads on the company her dad worked for, and
she also pretty much has control of her powers now. Tyrone? Not so
much... And he chokes (purposely?) on the final shot to win the City
Finals. While his (new!) g.f. didn't seem to mind, I'm guessing the
rest of the school will...
Based on the promos, I'm not sure the next episode will be as
appealing to me...

The Expanse (recorded) - "Congregation" and "Abaddon's Gate" (ep's
#3.12 & 3.13).
The finale once again (re-)confirms that this is the best show on
television. The penultimate episode was good too, but the finale was
great. :)
I guess I won't spoil anything that happens here (Jim's post on this
does a little more of that, for those interested...), but I am
definitely looking forward to season #4 after this finale. :)
Anyone know how much material is left uncovered in the books? Is the
TV show running out of material? Or is there plenty more left from the
books?...

Yes, I Do (Hallmark) - This was enjoyable nonsense, though I didn't
care for making Jessica Lowndes such an obvious "villain" - it would
have made for a more interesting story if she hadn't been, and making
her a villain removed most of the dramatic tension from this (leaving,
really, only the question of whether Jen Lilley would "bolt" from a
wedding the third time, but by the halfway point or so even that
question was seemingly answered...).

Recorded for later: The final "Taken" (brah!) episode... :(

--
"Three light sabers? Is that overkill? Or just the right amount
of "kill"?" - M-OC, "A Perilous Rescue" (ep. #2.9), LSW:TFA (08-10-2017)

Also with Sherry Jackson (rowr). This episode always plays with the
color saturation set to 11.

JAWS

Hey, it's the fourth of July weekend!

And then I suffered TAU on The Netflix. The actress is sort of okay,
but the writing is moronic. At least the FX work was subpar. Filmed in
low end metric countries.

It sounds like they've reached book 3 (strangely enough titled
"Abaddon's Gate"), maybe the end of book 3? (haven't gotten around to
watching this season yet). Book 7 is out in hardback and IIRC two more
are planned.

I'm sticking with it, but I really expected more of a traditional super
hero show. I really just don't care about whatever it is they are
investigating.

I watched:

Just Another Immigrant - "The Corden Favor" - Romesh visits his friend
James Corden in an attempt to get on his show and generate ticket sales,
but he once again lies and tells Corden his own show is sold out. This
felt *so* scripted, the way every episode Romesh tells some stupid lie
which then immediately backfires on him.

Good Kill (Netflix rental) Ethan Hawke stars as an air force officer who
would rather be piloting combat jets instead of remotely killing people
with drones. The movie focuses on the emotional toll on him as the
people he is ordered to kill from afar seem to be mostly innocent women
and children who happen to be near people who may or may not be
terrorists. It was OK I guess.

Suburbicon (Netflix rental) This is a hard movie to describe. It's
based off of a Cohen Brothers script and directed by George Clooney. It
stars Matt Damon as a 1950s regular guy, at least on the surface, who
gets caught up in murder and the mob. The movie is played mostly
through the eyes of Damon's young son who realizes his father isn't the
man he thought he was. There's also a subplot about an African American
family that moves into the all White neighborhood which sets the
neighbors off in a really bad way. While the movie is...weird...it did
actually sort of remind me of Pleasantville which I've been meaning to
watch again for a while now. This may prompt me to get to it sooner
rather than later.

Ghostbusters (4k disc) The original classic. Bill Murray and friends
team up to show a Sumerian god how they do things down town. Still holds
up great. However, I thought the image quality on the disc was hit or
miss. Some scenes the film really seemed to be showing its' age while
others looked stunning in 4K.

Ghostbusters II (4k disc) The guys reunite for all you can eat steak
night at the sizzler and to battle another would be god determined to
take over New York City. The 4K image quality on this one on the other
hand was perfect throughout the whole movie.

Ghostbusters (3D blu-ray) - 2016 reboot with a new team of Ghostbusters
forming to battle yet another threat to New York. Except this time the
threat is a human who is unleashing ghosts upon the city. I saw this
when it first came out and really liked it then. I still really like
it. I'd rank this as second best in the franchise. Much of the plot of
this could have been reworked to make Ghostbusters II a much better
movie. I like how they heavily imply this is within the same continuity
of the original movies, but it has all been swept under the rug by the
government. And I have to point out the 3D on this disc is reference
quality. Not just in depth but several times ghosts/monsters leapt out
of the TV frame. The quality of the image of ghosts and monsters coming
out of the TV frame is so clear, at one point I rewound the movie back
just so I could see a head come out of my TV screen again.

Nope. It's always been like that, although I didn't watch the show

On Saturday June 30 I watched:

ENDEAVOUR: Passenger
Well I certainly enjoyed this episode
more than the episode of the other show with the same title.
"Missing woman at a railway st ion" & a "lorry hijack".
I can't reveal more as earlier episodes of the season
are being review3ed here.
Grade B

THE KILLING: Truth Asunder; Eden (Netflix)
I loved the show's (stationj above = ubcorrect spell check above) final
episode Eden,
with the almost Hollywood ending,
though I thought the pre-ending somewhat ridiculous.
Grade A.

Here in the US we can watch all of S5 on the PBS app on Roku. We have watched three so far which is up to the one you mentioned.

In the ep before it sure was funny when he found out who the girl was that he picked up!

Sherry did a pictorial in the August 1967 Playboy to promote the film.
Boobs and butt. The article (yes, I read the article) says the U.S.
version of GUNN didn't have any Sherry nudity, but the version released
overseas did.

"In a 2011 interview, Jackson sought to set the record straight:

Doing the notorious foreign market nude scene--which is total
nonsense--it doesn’t really exist ... I’m supposed to put my arms around
Gunn and my towel drops ... So Blake [Edwards] comes up to me and, very
fatherly, says, “I just want to pull the camera back a couple of feet
when your towel comes down.” He was very gentle and thoughtful about it
and made it easier for me ... I think he was more nervous than I was!
That said, the most you saw--and briefly--was the side of my breast.
That was it--the scandalous overseas graphic sequence! Another Hollywood

If so, she participated in making that legend. There are two pics of
Sherry and Gunn in an embrace, with her left breast exposed to the
nipple. One pic may have been posed; the other is a b&w publicity
still from the film and shows a little bit less. Again, see the
interview in Playboy, August 1967 ... and, again, the pic in question
here came up as being from GUNN, according to Google Images. If my
cite is wrong, it's not on me.

Scans from Playboy. You're welcome.

Trouble Along the Way (1953)

Sherry Jackson plays John Wayne's daughter, a scoundrel of a football
coach hired by, I think, the same school that was on its last legs in
Horse Feathers.

I had no idea she was a child actress before The Danny Thomas Show (as
Terry), but she had 27 credits before this movie.

She's not just adorable, but she acts without overtly scene stealing and
she gets the truly good lines in the script. Much of the script isn't
very good, but her character is fully fleshed out.

Also with Charles Coburn. I really wanted to see them together more to
see which would better steal the scene, but they didn't share a lot of
screen time. Donna Reed is in it too as a somewhat unethical social
worker.

She was also on Star Trek TOS, which you'd think would have led to some
paid convention appearances.

Reminds me of Beverly Washburn. She was the little girl who was in the
George Reeves Superman movie "Superman and the Mole Men" (later cut
into "The Unknown People," a two-part episode). Beverly played with
the Unknown People by rolling a ball toward them. Beverly had no idea
that people remembered her for that, and that her presence was being
sought for conventions and autographs and other $$$ stuff. IIRC she
didn't find out until the mid-'90s.

Everybody should call their agent.

just outstanding. In this movie, she gave a memorable performance
despite just being a kid, and not the best script (aside from her
character), so she can act, too.

I've never heard of her before. I took a look at her film credits and
at first thought she wasn't in any movies I had ever seen before. Then
I noticed she was in "The Monitors." Talk about obscure! Anyone ever
see that before? It's a 1969 comedy, and I use the term loosely, about
aliens called "The Monitors" that conquers Earth, and the resistance
movement that fights against them. I only ever saw it once on TV when I
was a kid, but I still distinctly remember the computerized theme song.

For those of us who watched Star Trek, she's most famous for this:

Not for the performance, but for the truly memorable and imaginitive
costume, at least what the viewer might imagine.

Mostly, to us aging boomers, she's the one who left Make Room for Daddy
when they "reimagined" it after Jean Hagen quit the show. Jean had
played Danny's first wife. They were in a car crash; Mrs. Danny died
and Danny suffered a broken leg. Off went Sherry to boarding school or
college or something. Rusty stayed, and Angela Cartwright joined as
second wife Marjorie Lord's daughter. I don't think Sherry was ever
mentioned again until they tried Make Room for Granddaddy in 1970; the
grandchild was Sherry's.

Sort of.
Jean Hagan’s last episode is the season three finale. I don’t recall the
specifics of what happened to her between seasons but you could well be
right.
The season four opener, which doesn’t have Marjorie Lord in it yet, has
Danny sending both his kids off to boarding school because he can’t imagine
raising them without a mother. Obviously it didn’t stick.
Danny dates during season four. Marjorie Lord shows up in the last few
episodes of the season as a nurse taking care of Rusty who has the measles.
The two kids like her and want Danny to marry her.
Season five begins with Danny remarried and then taking all three kids on
the honeymoon as Angela Cartwright joins the series recasting the part in a
new apartment on a new network.
Sherry Jackson makes it through season six episode four (Her five season
contract was up) and then goes away to school in Paris but her character
Terry comes back recast by actress Penny Parker with the beginning of
season seven and makes it almost all the way to the end of the season
before getting married and leaving the series.
Many years later, Sherry comes back for episode one of Make Room for
Granddaddy which is apparently out of continuity with the Penny Parker
episodes.

Ian’s Wikipedia article claims there were at least three one-shot reunion
shows between the two series and that Sherry was in at least two of them;
IMDB does not support this. I think I trust Ian in this case.

Thanks very much for all of that. I don't remember any reunion shows,
but it's been more than fifty years. I surely wouldn't have been
anticipating them. I would trust Ian, too. (BTW the early episodes of
Make Room for Daddy were in daytime reruns around the mid-'60s, and
that's the extent of my familiarity with the earlier version.)

Penny Parker's father was a long-term congressman from Westchester
County in New York, if memory serves. She'd do re-elect commercials
for him. I guess her father thought she was more famous than she
really was.

BTW I remember the el cheapo film they made of The Monitors. It was a
serious book, but I guess they figured the only way they might make
money off a film was to make it a "comedy."

I know.

If I had typed it I would say that my fingertips felt dirty. But I was on
speech to text. So it’s the tip of my tongue and that little flap of skin
underneath that keeps you from swallowing said tongue and the insides of
the lower gums on molars five through seven on each side.

Yeah. Different Penny.
Parker barely had a career. She doesn’t even have a photo on IMDb.

That’s the only photo I could find of Parker that isn’t mislabeled. Most
photos of her are actually Sherry Jackson which I understand although
bizarrely a lot of them are Terry Hatcher on MacGyver.

For the record here’s Peyser as I remember her. IMDB says she played a
judge on NCIS Old White Men in 2017.

I have. There are any number of actors who I've seen on TV, that I've
never heard of before. It just means I'm not aware of the actor's name
nor did the actor register enough with me that I ever noticed them in
anything else as the same actor from some other show.
