INFLAMMATORY language means you have been drinking. If it is all
bullshit why are you bringing it up? Does God (skypixer) disagree with
you? So put down the Bud Light and tell us:

Who should we believe? You or God? "God so loved the world that he
gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish but have everlasting life" (John 3 KJV)

Maybe you should read it. It says plenty.

Oh.

"Reading." I forgot.

Maybe you should have someone read it to you.

That would be fitting since parents do often read their kids fairy
tales at bedtime. :-p

You probably should look up what Christianity is before expounding on it.
The definition of Christianity is the belief that Jesus was the son of God.
If you don't believe that he is (or was) you are not a Christian.

Def: A montheistic system of beliefs and practices based on the Old
Testament and the teachings of Jesus as embodied in the New Testament and
emphasizing the role of Jesus as savior.

This is probably the worse thing that the bible says about Christians: "It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. - Luke 19:46

The basic definition of an atheist is someone who's thought process
does not go beyond that of a child hiding behind a post with their
eyes closed -"I can't see you so you can't see me".

If they say there is no God - there is no God - so they are totally
free of the consequenses of sin, which does not exist to them..

Their understanding of the world is so superior to that of anyone who
believes in God that they don't have to even think about - much less
have any idea about, what others believe.

Atheism is the polar opposite of Monotheism - it is basically a
combination of Pantheism and schizophrenia, mixed with a bit of
Clinical narcissism which convinces them they are their own Gods.
There is no higher power over them than themselves.
In it's extreme form it approaches sociopathy in it's clinical
manifestation.

Anybody who doesn't believe in a magical sky fairy is an insane schizophrenic.

That's why I'm a Pastafarian. At least I have a God to pray to and serve.

But unlike the Shia-pet Islamics and the Sunni Days ones, or the Catholic
Christians versus the Protestants, there has yet to be a religious war versus
the whole wheat Pastafarians and the ones who perfer the version made with
bleached white flour like Marco Polo imported to Italy from Asia.

Poor pathetic Canuck Liberals. Unable to make any kind of argument

If the stupid assed post forging dumbass had anything significant to

Thus and so, the liberal dirtbag can't make any kind of real argument

Man, that is some stupid shit you wrote right there. There's no
critical thinking, but all sorts of logical fallacy. In total,
basically nothing more than religious racism. And holy crap doctor,
heal thyself. I used to think you were smarter than that. Oh well.

No.

Here's a little story you might be able to relate to. When the first
Rob Ford crack smoking news broke, a guy from Rob's hood told me that
he would never believe it until he saw the video for himself. Guess
how much video he has of his sky daddy.

A truly logical and intelligent person would never be so gullible to
fall for religion. But a mostly logical and intelligent person who did
fall for religion would simply admit that yes, he is gullible, but for
whatever reason, wants to believe anyway. What you did by trying to
pin the blame for your lack of reason on anyone who refuses to
believer, is downright stupid. That's a fact, and no matter how much
more you write on the subject, that fact will remain.

I may be gullible to believe there is a god, but not as gullible as
anyone who believes there is any proof there is no god.
Or anyone who believes it is necessary to deny the existance of a god
in order to be a "rational" scientist., or a "REAL" scientist. or to
believe science has proven the source of life on earth, or even to
believe Charles Darwin was an Atheist.

There's no proof there is a God. There's no proof that anything in the
Bible is even true. In fact all the real proof points to it being a
load of fictional crap heavily edited (if not written!) by the church
in the Middle Ages, just like the idiotic fake "Shroud".

There is no "may" about it. You ignore reason in service to your cult.
And you defend that by accusing anyone not in your cult, of a lack of
reason.

>to believe there is a god, but not as gullible as

So a person who believes there is no Santa Claus, is gullible for not
believing in Santa Clause because he cannot prove there is no Santa
Claus. LOL

There is a lot of "stuff" that has "stuck to" christianity over the
centuries - some of which is as you describe. There is no proof the
shroud is what it is purported to be, and much closer to proof that it
is not - and most scientists - both Christion and secular have a
"healthy scepticism" about it's veracity. The Catholic church (as well
as many other groups) have been very guilty of "guilding the lily".

Idiom:
gild the lily
1. To adorn unnecessarily something already beautiful.

2. To make superfluous additions to what is already complete.

When the addeld gilding becomes more important than the lily itself
you have mormonism as a prime example.

So he existed. That's a long way from deity, virgin birth,
resurrection, etc. All of which is less likely than the heresy this
movie posits. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_from_Earth But
would any sizeable number of believers accept the premise that Jesus
was just a man? Nope. Too much invested, too hard to accept having

You still have no proof he wasn't, yet you represent it as FACT.

If you say "I do not believe there is a God, and I do not believe
Christ was his son, or that his death has any effect on my life' but
you are free to believe as you wish" - I respect that decision and
that belief. I have a lot of friends who are not believers. Some are
sceptics.. I respect their right to believe what they believe, and
they respect my beliefs, and I am happy to answer rheir questions to

You don't ask questions - and you don't accept answers when they are

What you "believe" is your business.
What you state to be FACT requires proof.

I believe there is a god That's my business. I've never purported to
have incontovertible proof.

The Macaw and numerous other posters on this newsgroup have stated
with conviction "there is no God" and claim they don't believe because
science has proven there is no God.. Not sure if you are one of them
or not - but you ARE one of the very vocal deniers, who very loud and
long proclaim your mental superiority over anyone who considers the
existance of a god to be a possibility.

I have not said not believing in god makes you any more or less
intelligent than those who do - but I HAVE said, and I will stand by
my belief, that anyone who claims to KNOW there is no God, and bases
it on science - they are not as smart as they think they are - and
they are delusional. The scientific proof does not exist, and it is
my belief the scientific proof will never be found.

I'm also relatively sure I know more of the science involved than most
of the very loud and vocaln deniers do,

For now I'll take Luke 9 vs 5 litterally and add you to my dust bin as
well.

None of them can be proven to be real "Biblical artefacts" ... mainly
because the Bible is a massive load of crappy, unbelievable fairytales.
At best you can prove they date to the correct time period, but half
the crap preserved in churches as "saint's bones" (for example) aren't
even human bones. It's simply part of the ongoing con trick by the
greedy idiots in the church misleading the gullible fools.

The fact that the Bible's crap is mentioned in other finds from
(supposedly) around the same time doesn't actually prove anything in it
is really true. In 2000 years time there would (if we didn't write /
print on biodegradable paper these days) be a lot of "evidence" that a
"real" person called Harry Potter went to a magic school, performed
magic spells, and saved the world from evil ... and none of that will
be true either.

Ah, so the fact that the White House does exist proves that the
Independence Day movie was true?? Pity nobody remember it being blown
up and rebuilt.

Grow a braincell. Lots of fictional stories use real life locations.
The fact that some locations mentioned in the Bible were real does not
prove the Bible itself is true. :-\

For 1000 years, skeptics pointed to the Old Testament references to Assyria
and its capital, Ninevah. They claimed such places never existed. Assyria
was written off as a "mythical empire." The reason for this conclusion was
that no secular references to Assyria and Ninevah had ever been found. Then,
in 1840 a British explorer by the name of Henry Layard had the temerity to
discover evidence of the existence of Assyria, and soon after, another
Englishman proceeded to dig up the city of Nineveh.

By 1800 skeptics were pointing to the New Testament references to the towns
of Capernaum, Chorazin, and Bethsaida as proof positive that the Bible is
full of myth, legend and superstition. "No such towns ever existed," they
claimed. Today, thanks to archeology, you can visit these places.

The skeptics then turned their attention to the Hittites, a nation the Bible
mentions 40 times. They were classified an "imaginary" people who existed
only in the pages of the Old Testament. But then, in 1905 archeologists
uncovered the city of Boghas-Keui in central Turkey which proved to be the
former capital city of this "bogus" empire.

I think you're making it up - lying, in other words.

I've never seen anyone claim to have "proof" that god doesn't exist.
Show me a post, or I'll say you're lying.

Thanks for the nice article. However...it didnt say that it was
"plenty accurate to things only a few hundred years old..and in
fact..said it made "older things" look "younger"..up to about 5000 yrs
ago. Now again I ask..what is the accuracy mean? The best one can
expect from C14 dating of things from say..the 13th century as opposed
to the 1st century?

Thanks!

It doesnt prove that the Bible itself is false either. And Im not a

Logical fallacy. Let's imagine that Wieber's tale of a 264mph
motorcycle ride is unearthed a couple thousand years from now. The lie
includes a location (Taft) and a cop with a radar gun. Scholars could
confirm that Weiber, Taft, cops, and radar guns all existed. But none
of that would do anything to prove the veracity of the story. They
could also confirm that Wieber told a ton of demonstrable lies,
presumably to further his self interest. See the problem, and the
parallels?

This shows the uncertainty for the period near the Shroud dating:

As you can see the uncertainty can be 100 years, three separate date
ranges, or quite small, depending on where the carbon date +/- one
standard deviation, the pairs of colored horizontal lines, intersect
the calibration curve established from independently verifiable ages
of reference samples.

Bullshit. You haven't read any such "evidence", and sticking the word
"preponderance" in front of it doesn't make it so, it just makes you a
wild exaggerator. The only stuff you've read is from credulous
believers who did the same thing you just did: start tossing around
words like "preponderance" with no valid reason for doing so. You can't
cite a single bit of historical work - peer reviewed, not some garbage
from a believer website - that supports your claim.

Which doesn't mean that you didn't learn a lesson that is scientific
fact by hearing the fairy tale.

When explaining a Skype conversation to a person from 2000 years ago,
telling them the basics of RF communications and integrated circuits
might be better done in terms they can understand.

In Greek and Roman Mythology they said a chariot pulled the sun across
the sky, the fact is the sun did always move across the sky. They just
used a fairy tale to get you to realize that *FACT* .

You would think they had to wonder how it could always move in the same
direction across the sky, there would need to be a never ending supply
of suns in the EAST...

Name any of these skeptics. Cite any of their works that claimed Assyria
never existed. I think you're lying about it. It's very satisfying to

fucking idiot. Also, Layard didn't explore the ruins of Ninevah until

traveled down from Hollister (Cali) and busted the leaf spring mounts
on one side of his axle. No charge, did it as a favor for a nice guy
under the gun to clean out her house and get back to work. We even fed
him and his wife while the repair was going on. Almost talked them
into taking one of our rescues, but he didnt really have room. With
luck, they will come back in 2 weeks and pick her up. Oh..we do
Austrailian Shepherd rescue. Currently we have 12 up for adoption.

Id offer you one, but I only give them to people worthy of sharing
life with a smart loving dog. The lil girl would be pissed as hell
finding herself a member of a family of hate filled self centered
retards..and would never forgive me.

And you? What did you do last week? Sit and mumble to yourself while
two finger punching a keyboard and wondering where your Free Shit was?

Yes, of course I do. If I cared enough to take the time, which I don't,
I could present a comprehensive case for why I consider it to be well
founded.

> So, what metal working have you done this past week?

None. However, a couple of weeks ago, when I dropped retaining clip
(http://tinyurl.com/znc8wpd - goes to Home Depot page) from the shower
valve cartridge inside the wall and couldn't find it, I fashioned a
pretty good temporary one from a cotter pin. When I replaced it this
morning with the real deal from Home Depot, I was surprised to see how
good my temporary one was; it actually resembles the OEM one more
closely than I recalled.

No, I *REALLY DO* earn $75 an hour, for *eight* hours a day *every* day,
doing database administration work for a "too big to fail" bank. And
I've never scrounged food out of dumpsters, nor received taxpayer-paid
medical care, in my life.

Okay, I looked at the first three of these. They have been excavated
for decades. Note that the liar gummer said these are "currently in
operation" [sic] "as a *result*" of some supposed determination that
what had been believed to be biblical myth was "proved" to be fact.
That was a lie.

Clare admits he has no proof, only faith based on a preponderance of
the evidence. <chuckle>

How the fuck do these people expect their kids to learn reason? One
minute they're telling them to remember to thank "the lord" for their
bowl of cheerios. The next they're telling them not to believe in
chemtrails or vampires because there's no proof. One thing's for sure,
failing the opportunity to hoodwink those mushy brains, religion would
be declining even faster than it is. Some hopeful news.

Another incredible day in the life of the Amazing Wieber! Yet somehow,
after 4 plus decades of all manner of astounding accomplishments,
Wieber is still renting the crappy lot his mobile sits on, is in debt
and has a negative net worth.

I see this is crossposted to some groups other than RCM. New readers
of the infamous gunner/Weiber might want to read a little history...
if they have the intestinal fortitude. Wieber is in fact possibly the
most amazing poster on Usenet, but not in the way he'd have readers
believe.

Currently, the best place on the Internet for intelligent discussion is
YouTube. It's not the best forum, but it allows mutual blocking. Mutual

Facebook implements mutual blocking too. But it's even less useful for

USENET probably will never do so, but I'm hoping that some mainstream

The land the Turks later conquered figured heavily in the Bible,
beginning with Noah on Mount Ararat.

"Approximately 60% of the names of the places mentioned in the Bible
are in Turkey."

Even Santa Claus was from Turkey. St. Nicholas was the Bishop of Myra.

What's really funny is he claims to be a "Rensai [sic] Buddhist", yet
here he is furiously trying to pull Christian believers' asses out of
the fire, and not for the first time.

Not an assertion I've made.

Not necessarily. Of course, such proof could conceivably be to show an
unavoidable contradiction in the conditions required to show that there
*is* a god. I don't claim to have shown that, but I suppose someone may
think he has.

make you feel powerful to view, copy and paste the message headers?
What a chump.

An assertion like "There is no God" implies that one has proof.
That's a simple concept...

Try reading slowly this time.

I'm impressed that anyone can be so dull as
to be stuck on such easy to understand trivia.

Good luck getting past third grade...

When I "plonk" them it keeps them out of my "in-box" and I don't get
tempted to get "sucked in" to responding to them any more. I do still
end up responding to some of the responses of others to them.

I don't need rhetorical backup from him, but I believe he's more
honest than some of the other posters on this topic who have been
"debating" him.
He's no saint - that's for sure but he doesn't pretend to be, does
he?? I was just telling him not to tar all Canadians with the same
brush. Should I tar all Americans with the Mark Wieber brush??

Clare..and Johnboy pipes up and shows his fat ass (again) in
public....its simply proof that he needs a keeper to simply cross the
street.
