Neither Demon Seed nor Colossus was a made for tv movie. They both
received theatrical releases. I remember seeing Demon Seed at a drive
in (which was probably the precursor to made for cable movies).

Of course you are right, I could have written that sentence better. My
main point is that all 3 are ripe for a remake with modern technology.
I don't think Demon Seed would do well, but maybe Colossus. I vaguely
recall Questor, I think. I think that if they did Colossus, people
now would think that it was a rip off of the Terminator franchise.
Worse, if they remade it now, odds are it would look more like a
Terminator franchise than like the original.

Oh hell Demon Seed would do very well depending on casting and some
modernization of technology and SFX. Also it could me much more sexually
Graphic than they could in 1977. Outside of Julie Christie (not quite the
star she was later) the cast was pretty weak. If Hollywood did it right it
could be big. Colossus has some problems translating to the 21st century. I
don't know how you could make the story relevant to today. It's been done
better, as you point out by the Terminator films.
Questor Tapes was a Gene Rodenberry RIP-OFF of Jerry Sohl's "The
Transcendent Man" of a bunch of androids that have guided mankind since the
Earth was created by the race that made US and sent the Questors to protect
and guide humanity. It was a made for TV film but could be done so much
better today.

Stargate Universe SGU: It puts the "U" in "SUCKS"!
It's the show 'Defiling Gravity' would be if DG had more regulars,
fewer abortions, worse writers, and no budget for lighting.
Remember, you can't spell "disgust" without SGU!
I was with my mom and dad (hey, I was 15 at the time). The movie was
entertaining (to me anyway).
My husband just *had* to buy the VHS of Colossus (in 1990 I think
<ack>)... We still have that somewhere. It didn't age well, as I
recall.
Hmm. 1977? The same year Star Wars and CE3K came out? I have *no*
idea who I was with (even though I fell in love 3 times that year, I
know it wasn't any of them) but I distinctly remember it being a
drive-in. Entertained me too. Robert Vaughn!

To a teen the theme of a woman being snarked by a machine was quite
titillating. Evidently it is to those teens now grown up. We have companies
devoted to manufacturing the machines to snark a woman and websites to
demonstrate them in action. the Aliens have landed.
Okay, can't believe I'm doing this, but...

I knew there wasnt' any "sex" going on, I knew she was being
inseminated by the computer. What I remember *best* was that they got
their daughter back, sort of. At least that's what I remember.
Peeling the metal bits off, and their daughter appearing (even though
it wasn't *really* their daughter).
It wasn't? I thought it was their daughter, just covered in crustiness.
Granted I haven't seen it since it was out first run.
