I started a thread like this a year ago so that we could all share our
favorite movies other than Star Wars...and maybe learn how muck alike we
all may be before eating each other alive in other topical (?) threads.
Mine (I'll keep the list at ten, no particular order)
Raiders of the Lost Ark ( I guess you could count all of them, but I wanted to
make a broad list)
The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Wizard of Oz
Schindler's List
Jaws
Wyatt Earp (Costner--I think I'm all alone on this one)
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Gone With the Wind
Forrest Gump
The Fugitive
Hmmm...only ten? ;) Mine seem to change from week to week, but here are ten
anyway :)
12 Angry Men
Aliens
Dead Alive (no, I have not seen the Braindead version of this)
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (anything with Clint except Bridges)
The Hidden Fortress (not sure if this counts as non-SW ;)
Highlander
Jaws
The Last Temptation of Christ (am I alone on this one?)
Pulp Fiction (is this cliche yet?)
Vertigo
And, while I wouldn't include it in my top ten, I don't think Wyatt Earp was
as bad as was reported (though I still like Tombstone better ;)

	The Godfather I&II
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Blade Runner
The Godfather I & II
Apocalypse Now
Taxi Driver

Pulp Fiction
Leaving Las Vegas
The Usual Suspects
Raiders of the Lost Ark (are there any SW fans who _don't_ like this?)
Jaws
Brazil
Reservoir Dogs
A Fish Called Wanda
Any given Monty Python movie
Unforgiven
A Clockwork Orange
The Kingdom
Heat
Braveheart
Twelve Monkeys
That's enough for now. It's certainly weighted toward recent stuff, but
that's just because those films spring more readily to mind...

These are the first several entries in my all-time favorite movies list.
I've mostly only been exposed to what has been visible in theatres or on
television since I was born in the mid-70s. Since I have not yet gone
through video archives of past years and I cannot evaluate what I haven't
seen, there is a bias in my list towards more recent movies.

I can't usually put the funniest movies I've seen high on my favorites list
because they lack a broader emotional range, so I give an honorable mention
to my favorite laugh-a-minute comedies:
1: The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!
2: Top Secret!
3: Airplane

I've got alot of favorite movies but here are some of the ones that stand out
in my mind:
12 Monkeys (Confusing, convoluted storyline and a bizarre ending. Gilliam is a
genius!)
Seven (Yeah, Brad Pitt sucked but the theatre I saw it in had the sound WAY up
and I almost had a heart attack during the scene in the hall when the guy
fires the shot.)
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (Probably my favorite movie of all time.)
Seven (Three words: Wierd, Wierd, Wierd)
Hanging with the Homeboys (Another wierd movie, with Fernandez/Vinny, Willy
and two other guys)
Outbreak (I dunno, I just couldn't tear myself away from it)
That lame movie with the alien called Trumpy (Seasons change in mear minutes!
Night turns to day! A wierd looking Alien!)
Monty Python's Quest For The Holy Grail (A Classic)
Crimson Tide (I'm a sucker for Submarine movies)
Das Boat (See above)
Hunt For Red October (See above)
I'm probably forgetting some of my favorite movies (Like Wolverines and Red
Dawn) but that's it for now.
Alasdair "Lord of lame, crappy stuff no one else wants" Sullivan

I can't believe I forgot the Princess Bride! Add it to my list cause it's
really good.
Alasdair Sullivan
here we go (in no particular order)
Hudsucker Proxy
Raising Arizona
PCU
Animal House
The Blues Brothers
1st and 3rd Indiana Jones
The Shawshank Redemption
The Good, the Bad, and the ugly
The Graduate
The Bridge over the River Kwai
Cool Hand Luke
damn... losing my concentration... oh well, that's some of my
favorite movies...
