John J. Ricci, 92, of Pocono Pines, Pa, formerly of Easton, died Wednesday, May 2,
2007 in Bayview Center Nursing Center, Eustis, Fla.

Born: In Easton, Pa, he was a son of the late Alessandro and Rosina DeRitis Ricci.

Personal: His wife, Marianne J., died in March of 2006.

He and his wife co-owned Ricci Memorial Chapels, Easton for 50 years, retiring in
1985. He graduated from Easton High School, Class of 1937 and the Eckel's School of
Embalming, Philadelphia.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy from 1943 to 1945 where earned
the Medals for the American Campaign, Asiatic Pacific Campaign, and the European
African Middle Eastern Campaign.

He and his wife enjoyed their homes in the Pocono Mountains and in Florida.

Memberships: He was active in the community and was credited with starting the Boy
Scout troop at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He was a founding member of the Easton
Knights of Columbus, where he earned a fourth degree. He was founder and President
of Padua Federal Credit Union, Easton and the Holy Name Society at the church.

He was cofounder of the Easton Drum and Bugle Corps. He was a member of the Easton
VFW and American Legion.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and formerly of St. Anthony's
Catholic Church.

Survivors: He is survived by sons, Ritchey J. and his wife Roberta "Bobbi" Snyder
Ricci of Easton, John J. and his wife Ann Bennett Ricci of Corning, NY; a daughter,
Karen and her husband, Mark Scirrotto of Pocono Pines, Pa; grandchildren, Mark and
his wife, Connie Scirrotto, Christopher and his wife Rhonda Scirrotto, Kristen and
her husband Kevin McCracken, Justin Ricci, Jason Ricci, and Jamie Ricci;
great-grandchildren, James,Reegan, Mark, Andrea, Candice, Ryan, and Kelsey; and a
great-great-granddaughter, Emily. Five brothers, Arthur, Gene, Anthony, Edward,
Alexander and a sister, Claudia Baumgarten, all died earlier.

Services: Will be Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at the James J. Palmeri Funeral Home, Route
611 and Alpha Ave., Martins Creek, Pa, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10
a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Easton, Pa.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
