STRACZYNSKI, GARTH ENNIS, BRIAN K. VAUGHAN, PETER DAVID and everyone

Because clearly Bendis doesn't have enough books to write this month,
the big baby bullied Marvel's upper management into green-lighting
this ridiculous pile of silly nonsense! In the great tradition of NOT
BRAND ECHH and the old humor issues of WHAT IF?, WHA...HUH? asks the
questions that no one really cares about...
What if the Identity Crisis happened in the Marvel Universe?

best Marvel scribes—Mark Millar, JMS, Garth Ennis and a ton of
others—to make the dumbest comic published this year. No one is safe!

Actually, Juan's last issue is #8 as announced today (at Newsarama and
possibly other places). PAUL PELLETIER (Negation, Outsiders) takes over
and will be doing this ish, no doubt. :D

When was the last time someone was a regular artist on a DC *and*
Marvel ongoing series? Sounds like

WOW. And it doesn't sound like a shill for this Invaders series either.
(And like these other Handbooks it's written by some online folks too,
I do believe, so it's gonna be good) :)

Too early to consider it a cancelled ongoing; #1 hasn't even shipped,
right? I suspect #1's gonna sell well but perhaps they (Marvel, the
creators, who knows) can't maintain the ongoing schedule or something
just yet.

Finally, one on my pull list already. Interesting storyline and not
dumb characters. The Anti-Excalibur (Or anti-Austen) in terms of
characters. Hope action isn't totally left out for humour, this
storyline has so much potential.

Hitch is supposedly working on the fifth issue now. They've already

Okay, getting real tired of these "funny" solicits.

Possibly the last issue, if the rumors are true? Solicit says nothing,

Too early to consider it a cancelled ongoing; #1 hasn't even shipped,
right? I suspect #1's gonna sell well but perhaps they (Marvel, the
creators, who knows) can't maintain the ongoing schedule or something
just yet.

Unless that's a typo, I guess this means that Marvel are now officially testing
the waters for another across-the-board price increase.

Count me out, folks.

Isn't that how he made his first post-mini series appearance? On Mojo's world
Reality TV game show?

There was one done in the early '90s; had it, wasn't impressed. Since
Marvel seems to be reprinting some odd TPBs of late, there's always a
chance...

Well, Bedard's EXILES is living up to my EXILES expectations. Plus
it's working totally against the common practice of long storyarcs by
doing much shorter (and at times single-issue) stories.

"Something fairly historic" is what I was gonna say, I think. I've
seen people doing more than 1 monthly at 1 company, but more than 1 at
*2* isn't common place (especially these days when not many pencillers
can handle more than 1 regular book)

Collected in the last couple years or (like LONGSHOT) something done
after it first came out?

Doesn't look like it. I'd heard that rumour earlier; it could be because
two are coming in October. (I hope it's not because they're ramping down
the program.)

So, is the above true, or just another misprint?

Oh yeah, old trade from the pre-Quesada
collect-random-crap-and-don't-keep-it-print school of thought.

Thanks Ralf.
Does anyone know if those issues of WCA or Force Works very good? I'm
curious if I should try to seek them out in the back issue bins, or
just wait for the recap.

I only collected WCA intermittently past #75, but I don't remember
them being especially good. I was unimpressed by Thomas' work there
and on THOR at about the same time. You could probably pick up the
entire run really cheap on eBay.

The earlier issues in the WCA run weren't bad, particularly the arcs
that focused on Julia. It had pretty much fallen apart by the time
the title was axed, and the last few issues were kind of an abrupt
shuffle-off to set-up Force Works. And Force Works wasn't very good
at all, particularly for Spi. (She was reduced to the whiny,
mind-altered girlfriend by the end of the Crossing, ignoring her
daughter for Moonraker's sake.)

I remember enjoying Force Works at the time, but I was roughly 14. I liked
the Clone Saga, so my opinion may not be valid.

I enjoyed the entire series but I think my favorite issues were #69
on...and I liked Julia as an addition to the team...I collected
Forceworks too but it didn't really impress me though I did like the
last few issues...but I liked the Crossing so...
