It actually a good question. I cant remember her name off-hand but I know her lineage.
She was the daugther of Celeborn and Galadriel. Her reason for leaving ME is not
explained real well but it does say that she was captured by a raiding band of orcs
near the Misty Mountains. She was there torchered and later rescued by Elladan and
Elrohir, the twin sons of Elrond. Afterwords it was said she could find no peace or
healing in ME and left ME at the Grey Havens.
There is a quick reference to where you can find her name if you have a book handy.
Look in the chapter where the company is leaving Lothlorien. In it Galadriel asks
Aragorn if there is any other gift he needs. He replies along the line of "since you
gave birth to the Mother of Arwen what more could I ask for?". Aragorn mentions her
name there.
Also in the Many Meetings chapter it states that "the sons of Elrond were on errantry
never forgetting their mother's torment in the den of Orcs". This is about as close
as it gets in explaining this problem in the LoTR. I believe it is better explained
in the appendix chonicle in the Return Of the King, or in the Book of Lost Tales; I
cant remember.
Hope this helps a little,

An elementary Tolkien question is who was Bilbo. Your question is just fine
as far as I'm concerned.
>What ever happens to Arwen's mom - Elrond's wife. I remember that she had
>to leave middle earth, but I don't know why.
>Also, what was her name?
Elrond's wife was an Elf named Celebrian. She was (apparently) the
only child of Galadrial and Celeborn. As to what happens to her: she
is captured by Orcs while crossing the Misty Mountains. Although she
is quickly rescues by her sons, Elladan and Elrohir, and healed by Elrond,
the result of her captivity was she became "weary of Middle-Earth" and
sailed over the Sea to Valinor.
