Hello,

I want to ask for some ideas for my project.

I would like to make a lamp with the concrete and wood that appear in the picture.

The point is that now I have to prepare the wood for join later to the concrete part (the concrete has already the hole).

My intention is to clean the wood, make some perforations in the timber and prepare for all the wires and the other devices.

So I'm open to ideas and ways to do it. I'm quite new with tools and electronics stuffs so any advise would be beneficial :).

In my opinion the 2 main points that I have to think about are:

- How to clean the wood, which machines and tools wold be better to do it. Also how to make the holes.

- Which kind of electronics I need. I want to introdruce some lights (that would be posible to calibrate the intensity). I tought about LED, with posibilities to change colours and also maybe to introduce a speaker, if the space is enough.

Because of these reason, as I'm not sure what could be the best way to do it or how many things do I need,
I would like to know also when maybe someone that would be interested in give me some advised will be around the Hackspace, so could be easier if I go there and we can discuss in person.

Thank you for read it and I hope to liste from you :).

PS. I have really low knowledge about tools or electronics but I really want to learn new things and experiment with materials and technology, so I will be really open to any suggestion that you could offer.

Hello Jesús,
Glad to see you got the concrete cast okay, My suggestion is to use a remote controlled colour changing LED lamp, you would need to allow the IR receiver to 'see' the remote but otherwise only need the power feed.

Hello Mike,

Thanks a lot, I have been looking to those remote controlled colour changing LEP lamps and they looks great.

I will look more to see if the dimensions are ok for the space that I have.

Thanks a lot again.

Jesus.

Hi Mike,
I have been looking for the LED lamp, and it is perfect I will need to buy the E14 but my questions is:

How do I conect it?
I have found something like this on internet ( http://www.mr-resistor.co.uk/item.aspx?i=10230 ) , but I'm not really sure how it should work.
The point is that the hole on the concrete cast is 32mm and I think that I should use something like that link.
Actually I was wondering if we have something like that around the Rlab to take a look and understand how it works, also a shop in reading specialized in electrics would be beneficial for me (looking on internet I'm not really sure how will work the wire and what a really nice to buy).

Thank you very much for all.

Regards.
