Hi,

Does anyone know how to extract configuration settings from Marlin before reflashing? I want to add LCD support but don't know the thermistor type or any of the original offsets etc. alternatively is it possible to enable LCD without flashing?

You willl need to have a look through the source code from buserror repository
Download Marlin
# git clone https://github.com/buserror-uk/Marlin
# cd Marlin
# git checkout master

I don’t think LCD support is enabled in the default firmware.

The Round 2 firmware (which I believe is recommended for round 3) is from the "Round 2" branch of my clone:

https://zi.is/p/browser/Marlin/Marlin/Configuration.h?rev=cfcc83ca3a339b4b239ec50d549512fae3ba36b0

Adding LCD support to the OMC will involve writing new code, no way to avoid flashing.

Is there a way to extract the previous configuration.h settings from an existing ATMega?

Not directly:

If the "EEPROM chitchat" setting was on you can get the information you need, but we have it off as it made the code too large for the chip when using the SD and the bootloader.

You can download the firmware and disassemble it but working out the settings from that would be a right pain. If you compiled yourself it should be deterministic, so just trying different settings till you get exactly the same HEX might work.
