A visit to Pierre's shipyard (in a submarine base!)

Earlier this year Pierre, one of our rLab alumnus, moved back to France to take up yacht racing.

Last week, a small group of rLab members took a break from their holiday in Brittany to pay him a visit in his new home, a WW2 submarine base, complete with cold war era submarine, in Lorient. He is camping in his granddad's vintage Mercedes van, and working on his yacht in a shared workshop, along a similar line to a hackspace.

I've done a quick album of the visit and the location, which as Pierre would say is "super cool."

Pierre said he missed the lab, and that if anyone had any low-power, light-weight devices they needed testing in extreme environments he would be happy to test them. If you want to follow his racing experience he is on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/PMZsailing

Great post, Pierre maybe ready to enter the full  http://www.lasolitaire-urgo.com/ course next year. (this year is just around France :) and we may see him sail into Plymouth, Cork and Dingle all done solo. -Thx Mike
