SERVICE and federated queries

Hello RDFLibbers

The SERVICE keyword and the ability to federate queries out to SPARQL endpoints is a really useful facility.
https://www.w3.org/TR/sparql11-federated-query/

for example, to query dbpedia directly without first loading dbpedia into a local triple store (which may take some time)

At present rdflib returns a NotImplemented Exception when a SERVICE clause is encountered.

I am keen to implement this not implemented facet and see these capabilities provided within rdflib

but I am lacking the skills and knowledge to get this working properly.

Any offers of assistance from contributors to this group would be greatly appreciated.

Words of encouragement for the provision of this functionality and its utility would also help.
