Would a fellow Rivster in Portland be willing and able to make a local transaction, including test ride, ensure everything is on the up and up, bike in claimed condition, etc and either pack and ship or have a quality bike shop do that?

Please contact me off list if so. lamontglen a t mac dot com.

Bike is near TH Banfield Freeway and Northeast 15th Ave. Here’s the listing: https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/bik/d/pashley-guvnor-plus-4-one-off/6372032439.html

AHA! Saw that the other day and forgot to mention it to you.
Unfortunately I'm going out of town this week so I can't help you out there.

Really looking forward to your ride reports on this one, Patrick!I’ve also been eyeballing a Pashley
, and I’ll be interested to see what you think.

Me too, John. Me too! I’ve to get it first, though. Just lining up my side of the equation at the moment.

Can’t wait to hear the report. I’ve always wanted a Pashley Guvnor and I’ve always been curious about the Schlumpf drive. I actually don’t understand how they work or how that would combine with the kickback hub.

Yeah, Doug. I decided to pass on this because of the unknowns (to me) about the drivetrain were more than I wanted to dive into. Passing on it led to the knobbie Quickbeam idea. Funny how my brain works. I often have to play with the more complex answers before I see the simple one right infront of my face. Sardonic grin.l
