I'm running into a strange problem where RavenFS is giving me 0-byte downloads for files that previously worked fine.

It seems like after some length of time passes since a file has been uploaded, Raven just gives me a 0 byte stream every time I try to download it.  I'm seeing this both when accessing it via the API and when trying to download it from the studio interface.  The metadata still reports the correct file size.

If I re-upload the same file, it'll start working again for a while.  I don't really have a good feel for how long it usually takes for the problem to occur or if there's anything specific that could be happening to trigger it.  In the most recent case, all of the files that were working when I left work yesterday were not working when I came in this morning.  Restarting RavenDB doesn't seem to have any effect, either.

I'm also not entirely sure if the broken files always stay broken.  I want to say that I saw a case yesterday where a file that had started giving me 0 bytes back suddenly started working again without me touching it, but I'm not really sure of that.

I'm using build 3490, but I believe I was seeing the same problem in 3488 as well.

I created zip files of the filesystem directory before and after re-uploading the broken files, if that might help figure out what's going on.  I'll also keep monitoring things to see if/when the files I've re-uploaded stop working again.

Can you send is that filesystem to check it? We did a change 2 weeks ago that may   fool the index and since the filesystem was not released at the time the schema upgrade was not implemented. I would like to rule that out

Sure.  Where do I send them?  The zip file from before I re-uploaded the files is 1.18 MB, and the one from after is 1.23 MB.

Incidentally, the same files are already broken again.  I can make a third zip file of the folder if you'd like.

Mhhh that is with a newly generated filesystem? Can you also show us the code you are using to upload/download too?

Just put it in a Google drive or dropbox and send the link to me. Federico.lois at corvalius

Hi Michael,

could you tell us a bit more about your usage of RavenFS. The file system you have sent us contains only 3 files. However it looks that there were more files or these files were updated in a meanwhile - can you confirm that? Did you have any deletes in the filesystem? Maybe they happened between the last upload and a moment when you noticed the 0-bytes issue? Are you able to reproduce that by starting with a fresh filesystem? What are the common file sizes?

Thanks,
Arek

I was having the same problem and was just curious if this fix is in 3.0.3491?

Thanks,
Kent
