to RavenDB - 2nd generation document database
Hi,

I would like to migrate Databases from RavenDB3 to RavenDB4.
I usually used Smuggler and this command :

C:\RavenDB_Tools\Raven.Smuggler.exe in http://xxx:xx/ C:\RavenDB_backup\xxx.DEV.ravendump --database=xxx.DEV

But I have an error
"Connection problem : an error occured while sending the request"

Thanks for your help

Sonny

Hi,

You can use the Raven studio for that.

In particular, Inline image 1
In the nightlies, you can use it to migrate from old versions of ravendb, both online and offline.

Hi,

So I backed up my DB from Raven3 with Smuggler. (Is there another way to do it from Raven3 ?)
Then when using Raven Studio it seems to not see my ravendump :

smuggler produces .ravendump which isn't a backup, backup are binary.
You need to create a database and use import, see attached snippet.

Yes, you can do that with curl.
The easiest way to do this is to open the chrome dev tools and see the request chrome makes, then just right click as "Copy to cUrl"
