Yes, I found them already – contrib sounds like the only viable solution.

It seems like with all the work in the HTML 5 studio, most of the http client stuff should be written and it just needs to be molded into a slick node.js client. I also have an interest for a node.js client and not sure if I would have enough time to be an effective contributor, although I might try when/if I have some free time here and there.
