Milestone: 4000 packages on CRAN

As you can see below, R continues to add user contributed packages at a steady rate.

If anyone has an idea for an R-related guest speaker or other event, please do share.  Kruschke's visit was very nice.  It would be good to have such an event at least once a year.

These packages are maintained by approximately 2350 different folks.

Previous milestones:

2007-04-12: 1,000 packages [3]
2004-10-01:    500 packages [4]

Bryan - thanks very much for the notice of 'new package arrival'; R continues to hold its amazing place in the data analysis world. And yes, it would be good to do a 'Kruschke-event' once a year (maybe he would come back for another visit - he did let me know how much he enjoyed coming here for the day).
Speaking of 'data analysis', see the attached paper... in one single sentence (you'll have to find it : - ) it gives one of the biggest 'boosts' to bio-analytic chemistry and its utter importance.
