According to this

http://www.madebymarket.com/blog/dev/ruby-web-benchmark-report.html

The speed of Ramaze fairs quite poorly compared to other Web frameworks.

The example app is about as simple as they come so I don't think it's a
case of mis-coding a Ramaze app.

Any ideas on why so slow?

There big caveat here is that few people would use Ramaze (or Rails,
Sinatra, etc) for such an example. Rack would be the sensible first
choice and it is (surprise!) the fastest.

Tests like these don't mirror real life usage. Still, I'm surprised
Ramaze came in behind Rails (though not by much).

Any thoughts on what might be the bottleneck here?
