Railsinstaller for Mac (Mavericks)

Hey everyone,

As many of you are or once were I am new to RoR and Railsintaller. I have a Mavericks machine. I've noticed here that there are several posts stating that the development for Railsinstaller is on hold (from what I can tell). I got here while following the One Month Rails. Has anyone had any luck with finding an alternative that enabled them to continue with the course without it breaking? I'm not opposed to installing things manually, I just don't know where to start.

Hi Maxwell,

Most OSX/Linux users use rbenv or rvm for managing their ruby installations. RailsInstaller is more useful on Windows which does not have access to those tools.
