Greetings, All,

Trying to set up the environment as the video shows.  Rails installer worked fine, but when I try to update to 4.2.3 I get this message:

ERROR:  Could not find a valid gem 'rails' (= 4.2.3), here is why:
          Unable to download data from https://rubygems.org/ - SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed (https://api.rubygems.org/specs.4.8.gz)

Any thoughts on how to correct this?

Cheers,

Scot B.

I had the same problem on a Windows Vista OS.

- Then skip to the section "Manual solution to SSL issue" and follow the instructions. I basically had to install that SSL certificate (make sure it saves as a pem extension) and place it in the ssl_certs folder. For me it was under:

C:\RailsInstaller\Ruby2.1.0\lib\ruby\2.1.0\rubygems\ssl_certs

You should then be able to update it with:

gem install rails -v 4.2.3

Good luck!
